Don't know if anyone has had this issue before but I must say that the entire tire pressure sensor assembly is poorly/cheaply made in my opinion. I found that the valve caps, whether plastic or metal, oxidize to the threads of the valve. Just recently I went to fill my tires and had 1 cap (plastic) basically sealed onto the valve. I used a bit of force to remove the cap and off the cap went along with a crumbled portion of the valve within the cap. Now, I was left with the valve needle exposed and no way of putting air in the tire. This had happened to another wheel in the past. I have now replaced two of these sensors with standard valves as I am not impressed with the sensor assemblies. The sensor light stays on for a very short period then just goes away. And, on the display screen those particular wheels default to 128 psi - lol. The sensors aren't cheap either - like 100 bucks. The mechanic has seen this problem on other vehicles as well. Two down and two to go !

Everytime I read one of these direct TPMS stories, it makes me rethink retrofitting them into my 06. $100.
