REALLY?! That's like saying I test drove a Challenger SRT thinking it wouldn't be much faster than the base 3.5L... Or even better I test drove a Ferrari thinking it would perform like a Civic.

13s>>>16s and 303 hp/323 lb-ft>>>200 hp/210 lb-ft

Sorry had to, glad you liked it. Now buy one.

Yah i know i know. I guess b/c the G8's came out and WILL have one in a year or 2 when they drop in price, i kinda pushed the gxps to the back...didn't think they would even compare to a G8 GT. But man was i wrong. The only thing i didnt like was the crazy torque steer at wot lol. was all over the road.

Mine's on par with stock G8 GTs, keyword is stock, a tune and they're beasts, lol. Mine doesn't torque steer that bad, guess I'm used to it.

DoD doesn't effect performance, it just shuts down 4 cylinders while cruising. I had mine tuned out because it sounded like ass and didn't seem like it was good for the engine.

I have an Impala SS (pretty much same thing) and I agree with you. Yeah, the car has torque steer...but not much worse than my GP GTX was. I've never drove a GXP, but I'd have to assume it's a bit better than the Impala SS since its got the wider tires upfront, and much better suspension

btw: LOL at the OP

One test drive and I was sold. I'd love to drive one of these beasts with a turbo.

What mod(s) do you have? I believe stock G8 GTs are -correct me if I'm wrong- 361 hp/385 lb-ft vs 303hp/323lb-ft.

I was thinking the same thing but then I thought maybe the rear wheel drive would rob some power. Didn't want to sound like an idiot lol.

LOL I think the G8 is heavier, that matters but I don't know if it's enough to make it on par with a GXP.

GXP weighs 3600, G8 weighs 3900-4000. CAI and some exhaust work. I didn't mean on par powerwise, I meant on par on the street.

My Cutty with 300HP and 350ft lb torque didn't torque steer much at all.

Don't forget that the exhaust sound on the GP GXP is a lot better than the stock G8 GT. No HUD in G8 and they have pathetically small gauges and a really bad A-pillar blind spot right in front of your face.

Now for the pros... Way better styling, stock ram air hood, looks a lot more expensive.

I liked them til I drove one. That A-pillar blind spot was terrible for me. I was driving down a street and there was a truck about to pull out to my left, and I looked like a little kid trying to look around a tree with my head darting left and right making sure the truck wasn't going to pull out and hit me.

I would have liked a G8 Sporttruck very much though...

Yah i hated the V6 G8....felt terribly slower then a V6 Grand Prix. And shifted way differently. The 6.0 I did like though.

was what I really wanted. Real shame Pontiac didn't get those made in time.

I don't even have a yard, but I'd buy a lawn mower to stick in the back to use as a spoiler for down force.
