Right now I have been working on my car like i have ment to but just go distracted. I was thinking of putting a 160* t-stat in the car since the winters in south GA and FL aren't bad but summers get hot. I got to thinking and looking and I have no idea where the T-stat is on the GXP. I dont want to order one and try to put it in just to get discouraged cause i cant find where it goes.

Oh wow that looks like fun... My car is at the body shop right now so i cant run out and look at it. I guess go from under and take the spash guard off... So is it just 2 bolts holing the T-stat housing on? I'm used to working on Gen I SBC and Ford 302's.

your pretty close to me actually, i ran a 160 tstat in my gtp in st augustine with mostly water for coolant
no real heating issues that i noticed (didnt have heat or ac)
so i don't know if the heat would be effected as the winters are a low fifty high 40

I'm from Orlando and go back there quite often but I'm near Savannah GA right now... I got V8, AC, Heat, and a Big tranny cooler... But IO got the heated seats for the winter time so I should be good. My plan is to run mostly distilled water, little bit of anit-freeze and some water wetter.

Anyone notice any gains or improvements when they put their 160* in?

the car will run cooler. but takes longer to heat up. so no obvious performance gains, just a cooler overall engine

Well I got a big tranny cooler on the car 11"x11.75"x.75" bar end plate style (ment for a motor-home) and play to tow a trailer with mt motorcycle. so runnin cooler would be a good thing.
