I never heard of this but I'd open it up and make sure all the screws are tights. Make sure it closes right. Id use a rubber protectant on the seal. Mine don't squeek it just don't open right seems i have to always keep my finger on the switch to get it to open all the way.

The seal or the hard plastic trim in the interior?

It is the rubber seal to the class. I assume it is because it is exposed to the sun and isn't as soft as it was when I bought it. The seal does not feel hard (like baked) but it is dry to the touch and very smooth. Do you think taking some regular down dishwashing soap to clean any wax buildup on the seal than applying some type of rubber lubricant work..or would that be just a big mess?
