Nope, engine and tranny computer. On the TCM he's reprogramming the trans line pressures, torque management settings, shift points etc...

Aren't those settings controlled by the PCM?

from what ivve been told the TCM controls the shift points, line pressure etc, but obviously works with the ECM on RPM load etc.

The 2008 GXP's is even more high tech. They have a CPU that is a neural net processor; a learning computer

Looks like I would have gotten them back already but it seems that I bought an ECM that his software cant open. He ordered up another one for me and once that gets in he will get them out to me.

I got the ECM and TCM back after a long delay in customs, who also ripped open the bubble wrap packaging and then threw them back in on top og the packaging, a-holes. Anyway, the trans shifts great. Quick up shifts, quick downshifts. The shudder I had from 1-2 is gone and the occasional 2-3 shift delay is also gone. The power up top is much better, it pulls hard all the way to redline. This is a great upgrade and I'll recommend it to anyone! I'll report back with MPGs when i have a couple tanks through it.

Damn customs! I'm glad they didn't break anything.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the computer tune. I'll reply to your email in a few minutes.

Sweet. So now you have another spare set? You should send those for the same tune then sell them to one of us on here. Then the cycle could continue.

Ok, what the hell is an 87 tune? Joe got a 91 tune. What is the difference? Is this tune available on all years?

It's a tune based on gas octane ratings.

Tuning for a higher octane will give you more power than an 87 tune, but requires you to use 91 over 87 octane. Its only a few HP though.

what you talking 'bout

my lebaron has 4 diffrent computers lol and it's a 1992 running on the awsomeness of OBD1 computer technology

a ECM (engine control modual)
a TCM (transmission control modual)
a BCM (body control modual and is the central hub for all the computers)
and last but not least a LCM (lighting control modual)

and 3 relay banks. every thing has a relay...... every thing. the Left and right turn signal each have there own relay. there is also no flasher unit in the lebaron but instead the LCM and BCM have a built in timer to open and close the relay depending on what position the turn signal switch is in.

its also a wring nightmare when any thing electricla fails took me and a chrysler dealer a month to figure out why the high beems did not work (needed a relay)
