Help! My GXP has a musty/moldy water smell coming from the passenger side window/door trim! I sniffed around the floor and could not find any smell like on the window trim. I think its in the pass door too. I'm thinking I might have to take the door apart and spray it down with a light bleach solution! Any ideas?

Sounds like you have the right idea, just take apart the door and see what you find. The door panels are easy to pop off and get into.

Are sure its coming from the door trim or have you had the AC on for awhile? The cabin filter is on the passenger side and it can get soaked and dirty. if your ac has been blowing air from the vents on the passenger side to the door trim that could explain the smell.

You can replace the cabin filter buy removing the front window cowl ( lower black plastic trim piece on the front window ).

I recently changed the cabin filter- which was filthy! However, when i lowered the window today(pass side) and then raised it up halfway, out came this horrible stench again!!! so I definitely know it lurching in the passenger doors! How do I get the panels off?

There is a small panel on the door handle itself that you need to remove, use a deep 10mm socket to get the two bolts and the rest of the door is held on by metal clips. They will pop off one by one until it comes all the way off. Be careful because you will still have the wires going into your door lock and window buttons so don't pull it away from the door too fast. There is some insulation in that door that probably got soaked by water intrusion somehow.

Ok, I dismantled the doors and found that it was the outside felt moldings that smelled so musty! So I sprayed them with a full bleach solution and let them sit for about 20 mins then rinsed them good and dried them. I then reinstalled them leaving the door panels off just in case I had to do it all over again! Bam! No more musty stank!!! Since I had the door panels off, I decided to replace the speakers and add some sound proofing. Now I'm thinking of adding a small amp to power the new alpines! :)

Unfortunately the stank is back! I just ordered all new trim/felt pieces for $150 to get rid of the stank! Ouch! Yes i still had all the trim panels off still and no .... none of the foam insulation stinks.... its the outside felt trim on the bottom of the windows!
