In my GT I would easily get 7500 miles before hitting 30%
GXP is at 30% with 4500 miles... Oil looks pretty clean still.

I'd go 10,000 miles, with filter changes (good filter) every 5000 miles at a minimum. Right now, I go 5000 miles per oil change with a filter change at 2500 or so. I use a Purolator filter.

i ran 5,000 or so with purple.. sxrew the dic.. overkill???? mayby but i have had good luck with that method.

my first gp ( se 3100) got at 70k and put purple in it right away, when traded in for the 03 gtp and it ran just as good and had 180k.

i do 3k for dino oils and 5k for purple.

Synthetic oils that have been tested after 6000-7500 miles were told they could have gotten another 3000 miles out of the oil.

How do you change the filter without draining the oil.....

I use Amsoil 0W-30 and an Amsoil filter. I usually change it once a year and my last change was at 11kmi and the oil analysis said I could have gone 3500mi more. Engine was wearing great with almost no wear metals. Oil chance once a year......Priceless :)

I use Mobil 1 and have the oil changed once a year just prior to putting it away for the winter. I probably put on maybe 5-1/2K per year on the car and the DIC might had said 30 percent?

Spin the filter off, put a new one one, and refill. Just don't pull the drain plug. You don't have to do both. :-P

I use Oil Analyzers, they're a little cheaper and seem to run a few more tests on the oil for the price.

*edit* here is my last analysis

I run mobile 1 5w-30 and I went 5k miles last oil change but I changed it because of winter and it was looking nasty. I just changed mine yesterday to mobil 1 5w30 high mileage full synthetic and mobil filter so hopefully I will get some more mileage out of this one.
Got a little over 81k miles on my GP BTW

just figured out there is a Canadian Oil Analyzers testing facility not far from where I live, hopefully I can just go there in person and drop off the sample instead of shipping it to the states. Going to email them and find out.

I change in-between 3 and 5k miles. But its changed so frequently because I abuse it more then I probably should.

I usually change mine every 4-5K. I use valvoline maxlife in the GTP and the Tahoe, the mustang will get synthetic when it comes back from the body shop.

arepok,

Lol, this is the best site for anything and everything you ever wanted to learn about oil and filters. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com Ungodly amount of info at that site, but it gives good insight into some of the things measured in the analysis, and more.

I run synthetic oil with a NAPA gold filter and change it every 5-6 thousand miles. Since I run my car hard I want the oil to perform at it's best, instead of leaving it in there until it's lubricating ability is almost used up. Plus I don't like leaving the dirty oil in there too long since that can cause sludge to buildup in the motor. Oil is cheap but engine repairs are expensive, so I'd rather change the oil more often to be safe than sorry.

Do yourself and your car a favor and don't use a Fram oil filter. There are many other filters out there that are sooooooooooo much better.
