Go to NAPA and buy a NAPA gold filter, it's 10 times better than the crap at Walmart.

Puralator and Wix are also very good oil filters, and you can get them at any auto parts store. In fact the NAPA gold filter is made by Wix.

How are the Mobil 1 filters? I'm running 5w-30 Royal Purple with a Mobil 1 extended performance filter, the M201 (extended size filter). I always add a quart @ the 2.5-3k marker, then wait till 5k and change it out. Generally pretty dark @ that point, but I bet I could run it till 6-7k, but I don't risk it. I run my car hard sometimes, so I like to have some insurance. I probably should just switch to Mobil 1 extended performance and switch it out every 3-4k. I could probably run the cheap Mobil 1 stuff and change it every 3k on the dot....advice?

The mobil 1 filter is really good, and you could easily run the mobile 1 oil 5000 miles. That's how long I run it and never had any problems.

Fram is crap every time i used it there was issues. Plus after reading info on filters I think fram is the worst when it come to filters. I use purlator and valvoline synthetic. I may treat the car every once in a while with Royal purple.
