I have a 2008 Grand Prix GXP with 35,000kms (~22,000miles).

Just wondering what I should be looking at for regular maintenance.

Was going to do Cabin Air Filter, Air Filter, Wiper blade refills.

Front brake pads need to be done which I've read is common about now.

What pads would you recommend for a ceramic? I've read good things about Wagners, Akebono ProACT, and the AC Delco Ceramics, which would be best for stopping power, least dust, and low noise/wear to rotors?

What about spark plugs ?? Should I consider them already or are the factory ones usually good still ?

If plugs recommended, which ones ? NGK Iridium ?

Thanks.

Plugs don't worry about for a while. The OE's IIRC are Iridium and should be good till 75kmi (OEM says good for 100kmi). I have Hawk Ceramics and they stop great but dust more than I care for. I've never used Wagner pads but the Akebonos and Friction Master pads from Advance Auto are great. Rockauto has a great price on the Akebono pads.

I got 21,500 miles on my 2008 and the brakes are starting to make a little noise under light braking. Good to hear that is normal. I need to go with some ceramic pads too, hate the brake dust. They are not too bad, but could be better.

I would replace the things said above, minus the Spark plugs. Cabin air filter, yes, Air filter, just put in a K&N, or build yourself a CAI or FWI. Brakes, I used the AC Delco Ceramics. These work perfectlly. Absolutely no squeak, and very very little dust, when bedded correctly.

As for plugs, you probably won't ever need to change them as long as you own the car, unless you modify your car heavily. I say this because I have an '01 Silverado with 190,900 miles on it, with the original plugs still. They work absolutely fine, and have just as much sparking power as a new plug. I wouldn't replace the plugs until you have a mis-fire or something major happen. Just my $.02
