hello, let me start off by letting you know i dont own a grand prix... i am an 06 impala ss owner(ls4 v8) and wanted to ask you guys if any of you have this intake?
ive been looking around for reviews and what not but found nothing, i have emailed the site but it looks like theyve only installed it on grand prix's
so my question is if any of you have it, have you had any problems with it? im looking to purchase this intake but water going into the hole were my foglight is located and going into the cone is giving me doubts on buying it...

I would be worried about the water issue personally, I think that's more for track aplications rather than a daily driven car IMO

For whatever reason only the GP has the hole in the fender to allow this to go through. Thats why they only sell it for the GP. I wouldnt get it either way. CAI or K&N are better options.

I have a similar set-up my filter is right behind the fog. Its a DD and I never have had a problem with water in it. With a setup like that you just have to be smart and not think your Grand Prix is a boat and go around big puddles. I can actually touch the bottom of my cone from right behind the bumper cover and my car is lowered. just my 2cents

you can build one wicked cheap dude

you just need to figure out what you want to do

try TDR they make fwi's for the 04-08 gp which would mostly work the same as the imp

I've had the Intense FWI on my car for about 2 years with no problems. This car is my DD and sees rain on a regular basis. As long as the filter isn't submerged in a puddle or something, it's not a problem. My only gripe was the filter got dirty really fast so I got one of those dust covers for it. Overall I've been real happy with it though.

Eh, I have a FWI on my 04 Stratus R/T and once when it rained, the car shut down on me from the water...

work sucks right now.. not really working much so i got alotta time on my hands.. ima make an intake outta crap from autozone lol
just wanted to ask.. since ima have no heat shield, is it even worth making a hot air intake? as opposed to keeping the stock air box which im sure gets hot itself..

When I owned my GTP I built my own FWI. It was great until I drove into an area out of town that the street was flooded some.... and I forgot about the FWI until I hit the water... needless to say, the engine ended up hydrolocking up on me. Had to push the car to the side, and luckily someone pulled over to help me and pulled out his spark plug socket and I was able to get the engine to blow out the water after letting the engine turn over. So, lesson learned in my aspect.
