I took my GXP in to get an alingnment & I was told that my hub bearings were shot, I'll be at the dealership tomorrow. My hub bearings on my 98 didn't go until after 100k.Up until now I've had 0 problems,I just had my 35k mile service done about a month ago & they found 0 problems. I'm thinknig of trading her in on a Trailblazer SS,wich was my #1 choice to begin with. Next time I'm going to follow my first mind. Should I be as mad as I am?

Are you still under warranty? If not, don't get the new hubs from the dealership. Contact Ed Morad instead. My dealership wanted to charge me an outrageous price for each hub. Ed got me both of them for less than what the dealership wanted for one.

I wouldn't get too worked up. If the dealer didn't find anything wrong a month ago, these guys might be full of sh*t.

Yeah it's still under warranty, getting the repair done is no big deal. I guess what's got me is reading all of the problems guys have been having with their GXP's and I thought for some reason I'd escape those horrors but it seems as though I might be headed for that experiences. I'm suspecting the trans to start acting up next(38k on the ticker). This cars seams as though it's not a car you want to own without a warranty. It might be wise to dump it now as opposed to waiting to rack up more miles.I only owe about 6k on it.

I went to the dealership today to get my hub bearings repaired & it turns out both sides were bad.Yes the hub bearings are covered under the 5yr/100k powertrain warranty for all of you who were unsure. Those idiots at the dealership known as service writers tried to tell me that my 5yr/75k extended bumper to bumper warranty I bought at the time of purchase was in fact a USW aftermarket warranty that requires a $100 deductible. I spent all of an hour argueing with them, until I finally had to have my wife bring my purchase contract to the dealership, which by the way was 30 miles away.Yes,I had a good day.

Too bad you had to go through all that to prove your warranty. What did they say when you showed them the contract? Any apologies?

Hell no. By the time my wife got to the dealership I came across the guy who was my sales man & he remebered me so he spoke to the service manager on my behalf which sort of escalated the situation to another level. So when my wife arrives & I show the service manager the contract my salesman rubs it in & all the service writers were sitting there pissed. That's what I didn't understand, they were acting like I was taking money out of their pockets or something.

Well i think they get paid less for warranty from Gm than they do for out of pocket service, which would kind of be like the 3rd party warranties. Either way that's shitty treatment.

Well Gm warrenty time pays less then out of pocket time. They usualy charge a few tenths an hour or more less to do a warrety repair. Aftermarket warrenty company's vary on what timethey pay. Rather it is book time or Gm warranty time. So u was keeping the guy from making a little more money probally, however that is not your fault. That is something that tech's have to deal with. They have to feed there familys too. But they work at a dealership so there will always be warenty work. Right now most places should be happy to have work at all. Alot of shops are dead.

For 2g's I don't expect any problems whatsoever when I take my car in to be repaired, especially if there's a bulletin to warranty something under the factory 100k powertrain warranty.
