Anyone done this yet? I want to but if it's going to be a huge pain in the ass I might just get some blueish bulbs to at least match my lows.

I plan on doing it to mine. There's a HID thread in the appearance section where I just asked this same question. I can't imagine its more than a bulb change and mounting a ballast.

Just wasn't sure how hard it is to get down there and to try and find a place for the ballast.

From what I've heard, the GXP fog lights housings (apparently also the Cobalt fog housings and other GM models) just suck in general, so an HID bulb isn't going to make the output better if the housing itself isn't very good.

I honestly just want the color to match the headlights lol. Same with my turnsignals when I finally grab some switchbacks.

Yeah I just did that to mine to match the halo lights I have (same as yours) and I just ordered white Xenon bulbs to replace the current foglight bulbs and they are a bit brighter and match our halos perfectly. $30. check em out

Just to chime in...

I did both my headlights and fogs without any issues. Pull the front grill or you'll have to cut out the bottom area underneath the door to access the bulbs. FWIW, I didn't run (nor have I ever run relays) on the 5 cars I have put these in.

Oh... and also, with the fogs, make sure that the locking tabs are EXACTLY the same. Mine were slightly wider (bad molding). Had to trim them down a tiny bit with a Dremel

I have 5k's in my fogs and they've been in for at least 2-3 years now. I thought they were much brighter than the halogens. One thing I did though to extend the life of the ballast was to turn of the fog lights turning on when the car is unlocked.
