Only 3000 miles? I bet it never seen "change oil" yet. That's shame. I remember on news few years ago that guy brought new sport car from dealership in same day. Few hours later, he wrecked it during high speeding. It was like 50 mileage on that car. Pretty dumb lol

Sorry about your GXP but at least she is paying for it since it is her fault.

There was a new caramro only 20 hours old from the dealer that got rear-ended. After owning a car with GREATE breaks you will never wanna go back. Just think if u would ahve had some crappy brakes and shit for tires. Collision could have been massive. Glad your ok and that your car should be back and running soon.

oh and +3 for inferno hood

thanks for all the replys.

I'm looking into a ram air hood for sure. I'm not totally sold on the inferno yet though. I'm leaning toward the slp hood or the special edition hood.

I haven't seen too many gxp's with the inferno hood, I'm just not sold on it yet. Anyone know of any links to pics of a gxp with inferno hood? I've seen one on cardomain or a red gxp with a black inferno hood, I'd like to see others.

first off a insurance company is not going to pay for a aftermarket hood, that will come out of your own pocket, like statefarm will not do it unless it was on nthe car prior to the accident, lol allstate forget about it, and so on and so on.......................
so what insurance companies are we dealing with here???

looks to me like the front end has been pushed over, new hood, repair and realign fenders, replace hood hinges, replace hood latch, set-up/measure pull sway, repair core support, pull frame rails, repair frame rails, replace front cover, replace upper and lower grill, pontiac name plate, replace right turn signal light, replace rt headlight, replace headlight mount panle, replace mirror, r&i rt front door trim panle, replace energy absorber, replace re-bar, maybe lt&rt fender liners, maybe lower air deflector, maybe lt headlight, paint time, maybe blend rt door, if fender is beyond repair, then all r&i on rt front door, front wheel alignment, so gotta include labor times frame labor/ paint labor/ body labor/ mechanical labor, tax, hazzordus material, cover car, wet sand and buff

but dont quote me this just from a pic online, there is always more damage once the car is torn apart
tell me the insurance companies at work here and then i can give you more info

^^^ you can pay the difference from a new oem hood and the aftermarket hood or an oem / salvage replacement and the aftermarket hood
now paint may be another story

but you should call your claim rep and say i have been looking at aftermarket hoods, is there any way i can pay the difference?

no your right, statefarm does not use afterbirth parts but they do use junkyard parts, allstate uses both oem and afterbirth, liberty mutual loves the afterbirth, farmers really loves the afterbirth, gieco oem, well thats to name a few
i have been fixing cars for 15 plus yrs, and w hen a customer t hinks about doing a aftermarket fiberglass or carbon fiber hood, then they hear the price of labor they go right back to what the insurance company does i know for a fact statefarm will not and does not allow a customer to do no such thing of paying the difference for a aftermarket hood, at least here in chicago, customers have come back with the request of installing a new hood,
but thats after the fact that the car is done per insruace rules, remember we have to do what the insurance company tells us to do, then the customer tells us what to do

then thats when i just happen to slip the customer my card and pick up side work
