I got my GXP because a 16 year old turned in front of my 04 GTP hitting me head on totaling both cars. 2 days later I bought my GXP. A month after that my wife suprised me with the Inferno hood.

The Inferno hood is what Pontiac should of put on the GXP. I enjoy it every day!

Damn makes my sphincter tighten up when I see this kind of stuff!!!! I had mine 5 weeks and someone plowed into the back of my GXP.......................but I was able to get my magaflow exhaust system, it was almost 1/2 the price of a stock one.

You could always get a few quotes, bring them to the insurance company, and have them cut you a check. That way, you can buy a hood, get it in the shop and get your car fixed. If not, then you'll still have enough money to fix it.

I dunno...

Erie insurance covered about 3/4 of the price of my inferno hood. I told the body shop what I wanted to do and he showed me how much the insurance would pay for the stock hood, and I covered the difference. After getting the car back he told me that the inferno was the easiest aftermarket hood they have put on a car in terms of quality and fit. Erie also covered all of the price on the SE front as well. I have something like 5k in aftermarket parts covered on my car in my policy and the inferno front bumper was covered.

My hood doesn't seem to have the fitment problems like some peoples.

Good luck brother.

bdyman - The shop he works with might help him out... When I smacked up my Neon - here's what happened. I needed a new hood, the shop quoted it around $600 for a new hood painted and all.. the insurance said, ok, so they took the $600 from the insurance, and the $100 that I had to chip in, to get the hood that I wanted, and then they just installed that one. All depends who you're working with. OH.. and I had STATEFARM when that happened. Did they know an aftermarket hood was going on? No.

correct in some cases yes that does happen, but not always, here in chicago statefarm adjustors would only do that if it was on the car, and a recipt has to be shown, if there is a difference the customer has to pay for it my alero is highly modified and statefarm knows about my car and if i was in an a accident that blew out the side and took the rear suspension my car is baggegd, they will pay for it, its documented,

i just fixed a bmw m3 that statefarm dropped him middle of repair, due to his car highly modified, statefarm didnt know about it, now the enigine is blown and needs a new rear end, all accident related stuff, some times insurance companies will do it sometimes not always, i can recall on one hand that i had to install custom parts that insurance companies gave me the go ahead

and it all depends on the adjustor, and depends on us too the techs
