Hey guys,

THe title of my post says it all.

I need some new brake pads for my 2006 GXP. I need front and rear pads.

I want something that will stop great, and minimize break dust....also, I'd like a pad that helps to prolong the life of my rotors if that makes sense (I'd rather buy new pads then rotors)

Name and part number would be great if possible.

THanks

I say go with the factory ceramic replacements. There are some on here that have said that they squeaked etc. but after seeing their post, they didn't bed their pads the same way I did. I absolutely love my ceramics. Just as good of stopping power as factory, little to NO brake dust, and quiet. Not sure of the actual part numbers, but your local GM dealer will have the part #'s for you.

If you go with these, make sure you bed them correctly.

I had the factory ceramic on the GXP and they wore our pretty fast. I now have HAWK ceramics and very little dust and great stopping power. Not grabby at all, very smooth stops.

Brakes are a hard thing to choose. Id be will to give up some dusting fo better performance. Its kinda hard to find a pad that will do all of them things. The soft pads would be Easier on your rotors , but then they would dirty up your wheels alot fast. Where as Harder pad would last longer and should dust less but are more likely to tear up the rotor.

I have the GXPs pn my GTP. I use the EBC greenstuff pads and like them in every way other than I think they dust too much. I have a new set of redstuff pads to put on, ceramic, when I get around to it.

I use Satisfied GS5 pads on the Cutlass, and I love 'em. I have used EBC Green before, and the Satisfied pads are far better. I haven't tried EBC Red...maybe those will be next.

Wagner ThermoQuiet are real good pads.
I use them for the rear with my GXP brakes.

TTT, I'm putting some GXP's on my car in the off-season and I need good pads to go with. Anyone have any links to some good deals?

Don't know how true this is, but my dealer told me to use the GM pads. He said they will work a lot better then after market pads with the rotors that are on the car. And I don't think he just wants to sell their stuff, he oftens tells me to buy after market parts because the GM parts are so expensive.

Me I've been using the "Raybestos Brake" on all of my cars, never had any problems.

I got some Posi quiet brake pads if your interested. I was going to get new rotors on ebay "slotted, drilled, and Zinc coated... but the guy couldnt slot them, so I said f* it and used the rusty ones I got. A few weeks later the ebay seller sent me the brake pads for free by mistake! lol I've been getting lucky with ebay! 2 items for free so far... LED tail lights and brake pads now :P
