Anybody have a pic of their stock or nearly stock GXP on a lift getting anything done? I've never been under my GXP and certainly don't want to jack it up in 94 degree weather. I'm most interested in seeing the exhaust layout. I don't even know if our cars have a Y-pipe, X-pipe, or if it's an H-pipe.

Weird. Never heard of anything like that before.

I'm going to make myself look like a noob now, but does our engine somehow only have 1 exhaust manifold? Or how in the world can it look like that? Seems like there should be a Y at the top of that drawing. I know the engine is mounted transversely, but still... strange.

How many catalytic converters do these cars have? 1 or 2? Are the cat(s) located directly on the exhaust manifold or are they under the car?

Can you tell my car hasn't had any problems yet and it's still on warranty? I've barely even looked at the engine muchless the underside. Going on 9 months and I don't even know what it looks like.

No, there are two manifolds, one per bank. A "crossover" pipe connects the two, and then feeds in to one pipe that splits in to two back around the gas tank area. There is one catalytic convertor.

The front manifold conects to the rear manifold Via the cross over pipe. that is located directly under the TB. The cross over pipe merges into the rear manifold then into the DP, then cat, and findally resonator.

I hope this link works, but this is my car from when it got done. Only thing now is it actually has real tips since at the time I didn't have anything picked out.

I see they STILL got it mislabeled as a 02!! UGH! I emailed them about that over a year ago.

Ahhhhh! Thanks for the pics and descriptions! Now I understand.

Rather odd to me that they do it that way, but perhaps that is the usual method with front wheel drive cars. I really have no idea.
