I am looking for a good audio/video head unit to put in my 2005 grand prix gxp.

Double din for sure, I'd like a unit with dvd and screen.

I am leaning towards the pioneer AVH-P4100DVD unit.

I do not want to upgrade speakers at the moment although I do plan on upgrading all speakers and amping them in the future.

My question is whether the pioneer deck will work with the monsoon speakers. I know the monsoon system has an amplifier mounted in the trunk. Is there any special wiring I need to do to install this deck? Can I purchase the appropriate wiring harness adapter and just install the pioneer unit and listen through the stock speaker system?

you should be able to just switch the two headunits and get away with it
iirc it's a problem w/ switching out the speakers while using the stock amp that is the problem s the monsoon somehow double amplifies everything in the system before reaching the speakers
