A buddy of mine went to dealership the other day to pick up a wheel he ordered and to his surprise he was told that the 18X8's were realy supposed to be mounted in the rear & the 18X7 were supposed to mounted in the front. Now I'm realy confused because the ony GM with the bigg n' little reverse theme is the Poncho & to boot the bigger brakes up front. Is there any truth to this explanation from the dealer?

The people at that dealership are retarded.
You know, that is just one more thing that really pisses me off about dealerships. It's no wonder that so many of them are going to be shut down. How in the hell can you sell or work on a car, and now know something as simple as that the GXP's have wider front tires. It isn't like they just came out, or are that damn rare.

If I were you, I would tell my buddy to stay away from them.

While it is an unorthodox arrangement in the automotive world, you would think the dealer of all people would know. The fact that the GXP uses wider front tires has been mentioned in virtually every auto media review of the car...maybe they should get a magazine subscription since they obviously arent listening to their own factory rep.

I get the whole concept of making the car handle better and reducing its tendency to understeer, but 4 tires/wheels of equal size makes more sense to me in the real world as opposed to a couple more ticks on the g-meter.

You can also point him to the tire placard on the drivers side door.
