I didnt even know GPONA had a G8 forum. Looks like I wont be leaving after all  Anyways, just picked this up last Sunday the 14th. Actually, I just had it delivered last Sunday, I bought it from a dealer in Ohio (Im up in Upstate NY), used with 14k miles on it for $20k (I hope Don Rome doesnt see this since his has 9k more miles and cost the same  ), and they had a driver bring it up for me Sunday morning. Nothing like sitting in your livingroom and seeing your new toy roll in to your driveway

Color is Magnetic Grey Metallic, black leather interior, and thats about it. Stock 18" rims and right now it has a set of Dunlop WinterSport SP snow tires on it. The summer only tires that were on it didnt like the 8" of snow we got last week  It'll stay stock until late spring. I want to get some baseline numbers at the track with it, then take it to New Era Performance to get one of their OTR (over the radiator) intakes for it and have it tuned. Apparently Mike, the owner, has been able to pull about 30-40whp with an intake and a tune  Should be good for low 13's at 105-108 I hope :)

Here is a pic of the intake I mentioned that I'll be getting in the spring....

And here are the pics of the car from today after getting it washed.....

Nice G8 you got there, I like the color! I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do, it's really quite a car. Swapping the summer tires for something that works better in the snow is a must in a cold climate. I went with Goodyear Eagle GT's because I wanted to be able to run them year round. They work very well in the snow and hookup nicely on wet pavement, even when the temp is below 40 degrees.

Sure my car has more miles than yours, but I had to buy one locally so I could trade the GP for it. The G8's I saw locally with lower miles were around $23K and that was out of my price range. I put 30K miles on my GP in 3 years, so having 20K on the G8 is no big deal to me. Enjoy your new car!

I never went to the dealer and I only talked to the sales guy like 3 or 4 on the phone total. I saw the car on Cars.com, called about it, and then the sales guy and I did our communication via email. I talked to him on the phone whenever I had an in-depth question that would be hard to resolve over email, and that was it. I faxed him the credit app and the associated documents for that, and after the loan was approved we set up a delivery date. It was supposed to be Sat the 13th but was pushed to Sunday the 14th due to weather concerns Sat morning. So Sunday morning they had 2 drivers, one in the G8 and one in a chase car, leave Ohio at 6am to deliver it to my driveway. They were here at 11:50am, I signed some paperwork, and after 5 minutes they were off and headed back to Ohio and I had a gorgeous G8 sitting in front of my house  I never felt the need to see the car in person because it was so new to begin with and the sales guy assured me it was impeccable, and he was right. There is only one minor scratch on it on the passenger side door, but its barely noticeable. Interior is perfect as is 99.9% of the rest of the car!

Mayben are you planning on getting one? I know I saw a few good deals in Jersey when I was looking so it shouldnt be too hard to find one if the timing is right ;)

Don, I couldnt find a cheaper deal local either. Everything in my price range was either in Ohio or some other state. Luckily I didnt have a car I needed to trade, as I sold that in a private transaction since I know I wouldnt get squat for it from a dealer. Either way, we both made out pretty good in our deals. I feel a lot better than I would have paying 30k for a brand new car that really isnt any different than mine is used ;)

I cant remember the name of the dealer in Jersey. Its a small state though so no matter where you are everything is close lol :p Two tone can be tough to find but I have seen a few. As far as the financing and monthly payment go, I financed 21,841.50 after taxes and fees (car itself was 19,950) and with an 8.61% rate for 72 months the payment comes to $389.50, just to give you an idea of what youre looking at ;)

Two tone is available only in black, white, and red FYI, not in the gray. I liked it at first, but then I thought it would probably start to look like crap later in life, especially with a car seat and kids in the back once they come.

Heres a white one in Maryland on autotrader for 21k with 13k on the clock and the two-tone interior. This is all you, I expect you to buy it tomorrow lol ;) I dig the white on the G8 a lot.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... =&engine=8 Cylinder&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=500&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=PONT&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar::ispsearchform&min_price=15000&drive=&default_sort=priceASC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceASC&address=14616&advanced=y&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=23000&cardist=274

And heres basically my car with less miles for only 44 bucks more lol

Im not getting white this time... if its an 08, it will be black gray or red... and you can have the red/black with gray, I have seen a couple in person... I really like the gray, and the red is awesome too.. Im afraid of black and the upkeep... so thats on the fence for now...

I just checked cars.com everyday for any G8's that were 75 miles from me. When this one appeared I called them up and gave them a credit card deposit over the phone. I arranged to look at it and they said I'd get the deposit back if I didn't like it. I went down there in the GP, test drove it and I liked it. So I signed the papers and drove it home.

I dont want to get f**ked on my trade.. pardon my french... but I have looked EVERYDAY and some dealers dont answer the questions I ask, they just ask me to come in for a test ride... some of them are too far for me to just walk in.. I want to know what options it has, since they either dont have pics or the pics are shitty...

I have never seen the black/red interior offered in with the grey exterior, I thought the GM website specifically said it wasnt available with that color. Maybe I was wrong :???: Either way, good luck on the search, hope you find something soon that works out for ya. I guess I got lucky since the first place I worked with was also the last :D

Mine I find right away but I needed to buy both of them as a package deal but I pay alot less for two then you guys pay for one...They are v6s but after repairing one & selling the other one I own this one for a little more then NyGTX was selling his other car for..4800 miles on it. They are nice cars but I don't keep them.. I just buy repair & sell..

I haggled with a couple Pontiac dealers over a red 2008 with 4K miles and a blue 2009 demo with 6K miles, and I couldn't get them to go below $27k on either one. There was white one that was also nearby, but I didn't want white so I didn't even go check it out. I was so close to going to Ohio for a few different ones, but that's too far to drive, specially if I get out there and they won't give me what I want for my trade.

I got $6000 for the GP where I bought my G8, and I felt I should have got more, but book value was 6300 so I thought I better settle for that. I know I paid much less than actual value for the G8 (there's no listing in KBB) so I felt the low price of it made up for my slight loss on the GP. It seems the 2008 G8 GT's are selling for an average price of $23k with the premium package (very few had the sport package or sunroof), so if you get it for less than that you can accept a little less for your trade.

I could have probably got $7000-$8000 selling my car myself, but then I would have to buy the first G8 I saw that was in my price range. Plus it's a hassle selling a car, you have to show it to many buyers before you finally sell it, and I just don't have to time for that.

I sold it, and got a lot less than I wanted for it, but I just wanted it gone and after having numerous people tell me they were interested but never look at the car or produce cash and a commitment, this kid from PA told me $2500 cash in hand and I'll pick it up Sunday (last Sunday), and so it went down. I hate myself for taking less than $3k for it, but I was in a rough spot and wanted to get rid of the payment for it before my first G8 payment came around. 2 car payments for one car being driven is no good

Flip,

Question, is G8ONA gonna have it's own Banners to display to the folks that click the G8ONA.com link that leads back to here?... Could that be something Dustin can set up for us......??
