Went & looked at a G8 the other day. Wouldn't let us drive it though.. :(
Here's what I noticed.

There was a lot of plastic.. But, it can be easily removed for the most part. It should be chrome more.. and less plastic like under the hood, that's just lame.
I liked the way the gauges & radio & whatnot were displayed, however, I love HUD! Lack of HUD = :(
The doors! There aren't any locks, window rolls or ANYTHING! It's very... plain.
CUP HOLDERS!! Just like my Prix, there are not enough CUP HOLDERS!!!!!!!!
I loved the headlights & tail lights, very very cool. Most companies wouldn't do that.

But, it's aG8, how can I not love it?

Hopefully the 2010 GXPs will have a few improvements or else Prix is staying for awhile! Hopefully I can drive one of these days.

No cupholders is fine by me. No spills in the car, because no drinks allowed in the car. My Volvo has none, and I am used to it now.

On the other hand...I want a G8 GXP with a pair of turbos, please.

I doubt the GXP will usher in any interior changes. Maybe seats, but it's basically going to be a a GT with bigger engine and better suspension. The lack of door switches on the doors and what not must be an Australian thing because the 04-06 GTOs had the same setup.

There is no switches on the doors because they are on the center console. It takes a while to get used to, but once you do it actually seems to make sense there. There are 8 cup holders in the G8 1 in each door, 2 in the center console and 2 in the drop down portion of the rear seat. Now as far as HUD I thought I would miss it more then I do. You have the option to display a digital speedometer on the DIC (right between the regular speedometer and tach). It's not much difference looking at it vs. on the windshield.
I miss my 04 Comp G, but with every passing day I realize that the G8 is so much better of a car. On days that I really miss the Comp G, I just kick the ass end out on the turns and let the 6.0l work it's magic and I feel better within seconds.

Right on. They're attached to the back of the center console thing on the floor. Hard to miss :P

and apparently there not standard. seeing as Miranda doesn't have them. unless the previous owner for some reason took them out.

^^ my friend had like a 1987 saab 900. thing was a complete pile, but rolled 500,000ish miles until the tranny finally gave out from all the grinded gears and abuse. to this day he talks about that car and misses it. been like 5-6 years since it blew up.

IIRC the 2004's didn't come with rear cup holders, that started in 2005.

You are correct. 04's did not have rear cup holders.

I have really enjoyed every Saab I've driven, which have only been 9-3's so far. I really only like the looks of the 9-3. The only complaint I have about them is the somewhat lack of lateral seat support.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, when I drove a 2007 it was better. The last one I drove was an 05 I think.

I test drove a G8 when I took the GP in for some codes and SES light work.

I also did a back to back with the turbo solstice.

I liked the G8 ALOT, enough to contemplate a buy during the middle of winter, however I also didnt like the plastic underhood, its easily removable and the dealer will do this and knock 300 off the sticker for the plastic cover. now onto the solstice, hands down one of the best 4 cylinders I had the nightmare to drive. That car got down and stayed down, better grip and cornering then the G8 as well as a better interior( 2 seats w/ "oh shit" bar). great acceleration once the boost built up.

I want to drive both!!! My gf's parents drove a base Solstice, and they said they liked but not enough to consider buying it.

the base is like driving a cavalier, jsut a plain junk ecotec.

my neighbor has a base model and he came over to check out the turbo model, however I think he is braindead, he traded his firehawk for it.

Yes, braindead seems like the right word for it.
