I've been thinking about for a while now. I don't feel like going turbo if I can be sure if the trasmission will hold up for only a couple of hard runs then breaks down on me. The G8 is a very rare and great looking car with power to boot :). Maybe with the money I get from the demod and the GP I can put a decent down payment and add a couple nice mods. I'd at least like to get 12's or maybe 11's on the 1/4.

I've thought of getting a vette, but it's too expensive. A GTO to me just looks ugly... Like a v8 grand am if u ask me... Unless you add the SAP (sports appearance package).

Scott Cook from Intense has an 870HP TT G8 on the stock tranny. These things withstand ALOT of HP.

Found this one for 22K flat. I'm going to see about the loan and insurance with state farm tomorrow or Monday :)

22K has been the lowest price I've seen and in the right color I wanted too. Hopefully it's a manual too!, but I don't think it will. Next one up would be a black one for 23999

I've been trying to put a mid list together.. I want to get 12's on the 1/4 and 11's with NOS- that way I can keep my gas bill low- not that I drive a lot anyways. Looks like I'm spending the GP's worth in mods :D

The G8 GT is an automatic..

you can ALWAYS negotiate.. if you're willing to pay $22k, take a shot and offer $19000 and you will probably meet somewhere in between..

With the de-mid monies

rally flat black racing strips
Lowering springs
HID's
Red tint the tails to match the car
Camaro RS rims w/ g6 center caps like bluejacket did
SLP spoiler or the huge wing
Pioneer Speakers and transfer over my 12's from the GP and amps+touch screen head unit.
Aeroforce guage can also be transferred :) and I'm getting the 3 guage pod for the center concole.
All weather floor mats
Cargo liner
LED interior lights- see which ones I can transfer from the GP

Monies after the GP is sold

APS twin turbo :twisted: Well if it's still avaiable :???:
GXP brakes

the GT manual does not exist my friend.. I have been looking at the G8 since before it came out.. the ONLY manual transmission G8 is on the GXP.. Trust me.. I would have gotten one because when I bought mine new, there was a mark up on the GXP..

The G8 bolt pattern is 5x120. Your 5x115 wheels won't fit.

No..never thought I hear the day your getting rid of the grand prix. Makes perfect sense though to go G8 route instead of dropping a few grand going turbo plus your paint work etc.. will add up. Hopefully everything goes in your favor come neg. time.

ya.. 11K for the paint/turbo-IC/tranny (with a weak chain :???: )

I'm going to mod the G8 for 12's like the turbo set up would have and be happy with the power for now... until I can S/C it :mrgreen: ;-)

Headers (don't know which ones yet)
Borla cat-back
Camaro diff for 3.27 ratio
tune (dyno-ed at local shop-Torq)

Baer 14" brakes
BMR stuff

Rally black strips
GXP diffuser- painted

center console 3 gauge pod (jhp)
tail lights tinted red to match car

haven't really made up my mind on the sound system.

Camaro rims with pontiac center caps
tinted windows to legal limits
