A friend of mine has a G8 GT for sale in front of his business. Looks just like Don's. Fully loaded, only 600 miles, asking $19,500. It's supposed to be a water damage car, but they can't find any signs of where it may have been. Says it still has the factory warranty. I walked in and he threw me the key (which is really weird looking BTW) and told me to go check it out. Man that thing is nice. That's the first time I've sat in one much less driven one. I felt like I should be shifting manually because the last time I drove a car with that kind of acceleration and sound, it was a Cobra. I think it could use a little tuning though. It would bog a little when I would first get on the throttle. After that, it stood up and hauled ass. Then again, maybe I'm just used to a supercharger giving me instant gratification. That's the only thing that was missing, the scream of the SC.

Now I want one more than ever, but things are way too tight right now to add another car note.

That's what I said. I'd rather black, dark grey or a darker red like my GP, but bright red will suit me just fine on that car at that price.

That is a good price, I bought mine used for $20K with 23,000 miles on it. I would be a little leery about it since it had water damage, but if all the electronics work and it doesn't smell bad it should be alright. A tune and CAI will help tremendously, the factory tune is holding the power hostage.

Just buy one, You will love it. I had mine for 2 damn weeks and I want to start throwing mods into it. Someone mention the transmissions being "sloppy" without a tune and I don't really notice that at all. But like Don was saying before, The Cortex superchip will work wonders with that and I think I will end up buying one for myself.

aha Nick I laughed quite hard at that....

but the trans is SLOPPY, almost as bad as a stock GP. A tune (with HPTuners, IMO) will clean that up nicely and if you get someone who is quite good at tuning, you can keep up with LS2 GTOs.

Still don't understand how the G8 is sloppy. Who told you? Have you driven one? I noticed it a little when its cold but once up to temp everything was fine. Nothing a superchip can't fix.

I think this is spoken like a true single man. I used to say stuff like this to my married friends all the time. Yeah, grow a pair, stand up to her, show her you're the man. Also, spoken like someone who can just go to their own apartment instead of the couch. Blackwood, us married guys understand your pain.
