Instead of having a EGR, I have a tube from my valve cover to my throttle body for emissions. The air traveling in that line can contain oil and other nasty gunk that gets into the intake. This oil catch can will filter out the crappy-ness and keep my intake nice and clean.

Post pictures after the install. I have been curious as to how you mount this and how it looks.

I wanted to check if it's collecting oil already but since it sits right next to the exhuast manifold it was pretty hot!

Are there cheaper mods you can go with to make equivalent power? I have no clue about the g8 gt platform obviously, time for some lessons. On a side note, the catch can is good idea and looks nice.

Very cool intake. I have some questions about it though. The stock intake looks like it grabbed air from the gab between body and hood? Is the hood not functional? Is that really restrictive as it would be a straight shot through the filter into the intake. Also, how is your current intake setup? Is the cone isolated from heat?

The hood can be made to be funtional, but that would allow water to get in. Stock air box is similar in design to the GP, grabbing air from the fender. This current one grabs air between the air condenser and the radiator, protecting it from sucking up lots of water from rain. It is some what isolated from heat, but not so much. Having the air ram it's self into the engine quickly does help a lot from letting the heat affect it much.

When I had my WS6 hood on my old 02 GT I took little metal sliding doors (forgot what they are called) and bolted them to the hood. I could shut them if it was raining and would close them in winter.
