I saw this on the GTO forum a week or two ago.. I'd imagine they had left over G8 parts that needed to be used rather than scrapped. Special edition ftw?

I was thinking it was due to leftover parts as well, they even have the special edition for the commodore... but did they fill in the arrowhead holes?

That's what I was thinking. They probably filled it from the primer stage and did it that way. I believe the Sportwagon also has a special edition. I know the Arrowheads aren't there, but I'm not sure other than that how it was done. I mean it's pretty cool, I'd take a RHD G8. Although it'd have to be an automatic since I don't think I could drive a manual! ha.

And I read that there is different suspension I think? Maybe I read that wrong.

Ironically I just posted a video from Top Gear of this in the Other Cars section and the video also shows a supercharged V8 special edition, well techincally the video is of the Vauxhall badged cars.

I really doubt it is to use the leftover parts. Considering a mold makes the bumpers in like 40 seconds. I built the air boxes for our cars for about 2 months and you wouldn't believe how fast those things go from plastic pellets to what they look like in your car(grand prix) or other 3800 series 3 vehicles. Also built the air box/intake for the z06 corvette...those were sexy.

GM probably had a contract set with that plant to make x amount of the split nose fascia. Therefore it is like using extra parts, because they needed to finish making them. It's not profitable to only make a few parts and quit early.

I agree, its a damn shame they didn't release it in the US. But the regular G8 Sedan is still freakin awesome!

At least the G8 lives on in Australia. We need to get this country back on track with a little help from down under.

It's the G8 ST that they nixxed from Pontiac ever making NICE!!!! I would like to have Australians Cars but i wouldn't want to live there. They monitor your internet usage way too much! You can't get any games over a certain rating, and all porn is blocked on the internet.

Also i have heard that its really hard to import any Holden Vehicle to the States due to EPA regs.

I'd be hooked up to Verizon's 3G network, if that was the case...
The internet is 'post to be "freedom to find anything"...
But, maybe this is a topic for an other rant/thread...

I always wanted a Ranchero

I think it's the "redneck" in me...
I'd 'sport one of these (Even if I had to learn to drive from the right side)
