GM will send out recall notices for those cars that are affected. I just hope they don't screw it up like they did with my tire pressure sensors, they go off about twice a week after they performed the recall.

chryslers fix pull the air bag fuse and remove the modual

not as sacry as the ford air bags that go off with too much force and was seriusly ingering people. the bags had to be replaced. it was a silent campaign on that one though not an open recall

also 92 was before air bags where mandatory so it was perfectly legal to just disable them. in 94 they had a revised modual and reissued a recall for the cars that had them disabled to re-enable them.

my Lebaron still has disabled air bags the light dies not come on when you turn the key to run and the modual is not under the seat just the connectors

I rather own car without airbag. I wrecked my 1st car 1990 Chevy Corsica. It doesn't have a air bag. I know airbag cost lot of money to replace. They destroyed the windshield, dashboard and now headliner (side air bag).

I'd rather have an airbag than have my body crushed by the steering wheel. Cars can be replaced, my body, not so much

If it was a low speed accident it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but considering all the other buffoon's around me.

air bags have been known to cuase more injeries to the passengers. they are only there becuase people do not ware seat belts so the government wanted something in place to proteced the idiots

True, it's kind of a double-sided coin.

Airbags, seatbelts, helmets, etc. all protect, but in the same breath can harm even kill the individual behind or in it. Granted an airbag deploying THAT fast, erm, yeah, that's going to seriously hurt someone.

The airbag gave me a concussion and knocked me out in my wreck. I wouldnt have come near the steering wheel either. So I have to agree with Mater. So now I have to keep a close eye on future head injuries as a result of an airbag that I did not need for that incident.

I hope to never have an airbag deploy on me again now that I have a history of head injuries. Another concussion from ain air bag could have a wide range of effects on me, anything from minor symptoms to very serious. And that's with a "normal" airbag deployment. After learning more about head injuries, airbags in general scare me to death. I always wear my seatbelt and when properly worn, you will not hit the dash or steering wheel in a wreck. That's the biggest thing that bothers me about modern vehicles.
