So, me and adam are driving back down to yuma as I type this.

It was about 1250 in the morning about 13 miles from the I-70 to I-15 junction in central utah.

We were coming along a turn in a hilly area, I'm like half passed out asleep, then all I hear is a huge BOOM!!

Then adam declares it was a deer that exploded upon impact.
We pulled over to see if there was any damage and the deer hit right where the right foglight it, there is currently a massive blood spatter on the front as well as blood down the side of my car.
There are bits of deer hanging to the underbody of the right side of the car
And, my rims that were redone today are covered in blood as well as the inside of both wheel wells.

And there is a large chunk of deer chillin in the rear suspension.
It smells awful.

Ill try to get pics.

There is no damage to the car that I can tell. But its dark.

My brother in law hit a doe a couple years back and the car was totaled.

Glad you are ok and came out of it with some fresh jerky.

I hit a baby deer last night, thankfully it was already dead and just got some blood on the GTO. Glad you're alright. Deer up here are usually awful situations. The chances of hitting one is 1 in 10 I think.

DAM!! Glad your ok, dead or alive, that's still a big speed bump.

Hell, my grandpa had a deer run into the side of his car and the force was so great it took him into a guard rail.

Another friend was driving his Frontier and hit just the head with his head light and ripped the head off and had a huge blood smear down the whole side of the truck. Just a broken head light from that encounter. If he wasn't in a hurry to get somewhere he would have loaded it up and use the meat.

Get some pics up when you get the chance.

^^

I saw something very similar, but it was a yellow lab, already dead but got demolished when the big rig hit the body.

Almost forgot about that day, I was only like 10 or 11. Your post refreshed the memory for some reason.

Um, update....

So, i was going to take pictures and whatnot, but we had to clean that shit off, it was fairly smelly.....
I will, however, get pics of the front fascia and the wheel well liner thing.

Ive been talking to claims adjusters today and we are goin to get the ball rolling on getting it replaced. I wanna see if the chevy dealer can order me a GXP front bumper instead of the normal one....

But, It turns out that the alignment is indeed jacked...BAD.
I had it inspected, and they found that the entire right front strut assembly buckled from the impact. So that whole thing has to be replaced.....

Poor G8.

Ouch. At least you guys are alright though. And it doesn't sound like the G8 is too bad, although any type of damage hurts.

Yeah, I know that it couldve been alot worse though! It was a big deer too....Guess the Aussies made it able to somewhat stand up to the impact of a kangaroo....

i know 2 GTO owners who have hit deer. and only needed a couple grand to fix/upgrade. hitting a deer is an excuse to upgrade. always.

Glad you guys are ok. My dad hit a deer with my old GP, dented and chipped the paint on the hood, messed up the fender, maybe some suspension stuff, that was it. I've had two narrow misses, I actually swerved through a pack of like 6 deer... Can't wait to see the GXP front bumper!

Note thats not a state trooper... its a inside view of a Rally car, this guy was leading the race when it took him out of contention. This is a longer version of that same vid.
