Sorry about the pics, took it with my phone in the poorly lit garage. But you get the idea  Props to Mike at New Era, I showed up at a random time of the day, shot the shit with the kid who makes these in house, checked out the shop and some current projects, and Mike comes out and asks if I want to pull the car in and they can install the intake right there and then for free. Obviously, I took the offer since it is 10 degrees here right now and maybe 20 degrees in my garage  I definitely recommend this intake, sounds great and the crisper throttle response and increase in power is very noticeable. Cant wait for the PCM/TCM tune this spring

Very nice indeed! I love the way that intake sounds in Charles car.

Congrats you are going to love it and once you get a tune you will be getting around 40HP with it.

Charles did you get a tune yet? I'm still undecided on a CAI, that VaraRam looks promising and I want to see the price on it when it comes out. Plus I'm hoping it will drive down the cost of the NEP OTR quite a bit, $380 is kind of steep for a CAI.

No not going to get a tune until summer. Vector just finished their NEP OTR tune and they are getting over 40HP. $380 is a lot and I got lucky getting mine for $330 when they had their intro sale. As for the VaraRam I get the feeling that it is going to take longer to get out there then what they are saying and I bet it will be $399.99 + shipping.

For the most part all of the good CAI are going to have dynoed HP numbers with in 5-10HP the unknow with the OTRs is how much more power they are getting when driving that does not show on the dyno due to lack of air flow.

For now IMO the NEP OTR is the best intake out there. Maybe the VaraRam will blow it away but I did not want to wait. I say get a NEP OTR and if the VaraRam ends up being that much better sell it and get the VaraRam.

Also Vector is going to be having a intro sale if you buy a NEP OTR and their tune at the same time.

Kirk just posted this:

"The Vector tune and New Era OTR combo price is $679. This is a $49 savings off the individual prices."

That is a good price for the package, the OTR CAI ends up being $330 with the tune. I can wait a few more months for a CAI, maybe by then the VaraRam will be out, and if it's better the NEP package price will drop some more.

I got lucky and picked up this intake for $250, it was a slightly damaged unit they had laying around and I got a deal from a kid who does side work for NEP with approval from Mike. I guess a Panhard bar fell on it, put a *slight* dent in the front under the filter area, you can barely notice it. Mike bent it back a little bit, tapped the holes for the filter brackets, and it works just as well as a new one. In fact if you look at the second pic you can see that damaged area where it sticks out a little bit. So yeah, I cant complain about the deal I got ;) :D

And yeah I cant wait to get the tune. Im so happy with this car right now but I know that tune is going to wake it up even more. It really will be the perfect car after I get the tune done and get an axle back on it to give it some rumble :D I CANT WAIT FOR SPRING!!! lol

That is a good deal, maybe I can land a deal on a used one if someone decides they want the VaraRam instead.
