Does anyone know or have ever herd of anyone that possibly makes custom center wheel covers? (The little caps that fit in between the lug nut covers...)
I had one of mine fall off somewhere in California yesterday.
They are made of fairly cheap plastic and the little clips that hold them to the rim just broke off (probably because of the crappy roads in cali)

I am goin to go to the local GM dealer here and see about ordering some replacements....
But i was just curious if anyone had ever seen any custom made ones....

Here is what im talking about:

This is what the whole wheel looks like without it:

And this is what it should look like:

Get a hold of Talia (I believe that's her name) at www.houseofgrafx.com

From what I've seen she does excellent work.

I just had another one fall off somewhere. Damnit. Does she actually do the entire wheel cap like the one i posted above?

**I just looked at that website...and the only thing they have for the center caps are basically stickers that go over an existing wheel cap....The problem is, 2 of mine fell off. So i have to replace the entire wheel cap for two wheels. And i was wondering if anyone knew anything about custom made wheel caps or anything...

No, she just does the center parts. Personally I would put a dab of silicone where the parts meet. It can easily be removed and should help to hold that part on. I did this on my old car and it worked like a charm.

I was thinking about doing that...Crap. I bet GM will charge like 900$ for a new wheel cap too. :-(

I just found this on the internet

http://www.gmpartscenter.net/oem_parts.html

Im goin to see if i can get them to replace them for free seen as i haven't even had the car 90 days....

But it will fall off? He already lost 2 of them. It was weird center cap. Since it is plastic then I'm sure it will be easy to flying out to hit motorcycle guy's face or something lol

Since you got a new car right? Maybe tell GM dealership that car lost 2 center cap in road trip. Maybe they will give you free. I'm pretty sure it will be on "G8 recall for missing center cap" lol

I like the Holden ones...and it would indeed be different...but, i dont really think it would match the car lol.
Im going to go into the GM dealer tomorrow and see about them replacing those covers. They are made of fairly cheap plastic.
They just have 5 clips that hold them to the rim along with a metal ring that is supposed to secure it.
But i think the Heat here in Yuma caused the clips to sorta weaken...then they just fell off. Its quite irritating really...

I'll bet the person that removed the center caps damaged the clips when they painted the wheels. I have never heard of anyone losing them from the G8 forum. Hopefully the dealer will give you some replacements but my guess is the other 2 will come off eventually.

IMO, go with what RKELC was sayin'. The Holden ones definately look better. Hmmm, wonder if maybe Talia could hook me up with some Holden ones for the GP?

I just got the stock replacements from GM today. The dealer just replaced them as a warranty item. The new ones fit very well and are very secure. I do believe whoever painted my rims at the dealer broke them when they were taking them off.....thats probably why they fell off...

The key & fob are like $150, so make sure you get them to warranty it.

Just pull the other wheel cover off and go get 2 more, I'm sure that one will fall off too. My remote seems to work ok, and I finally got a spare for free from the dealer because I only got one when I bought the car. Too bad it doesn't have a folding key though, but it's better than nothing.

Same here, my old GP had excellent range.....I wonder if that is something that is actually wrong with our G8s, or if its just the way the car is....

A guy in the G8 forum had his remotes replaced under warranty and now they have better range. Complain to your dealer and maybe they will replace yours.

EH, Sit Rep.....on the wheel covers...

I got the two of them replaced....I thought they would be good....
Then the other two that i didnt replace fell off....So i went to the chevy dealer to get more....
Then as i was walking out of the dealer...I noticed that another one was missing...(One of the new ones) so that makes 3.

THEN, today, I noticed i was missing my 4th one. ASSSSS.

Im gluing the damn things on from now on.

I think they fell off because the rims heat up so much in the hot down here, that they either expand so much that they fall out, or, they get so hot and they basically melt/break off the clips that hold them in. ASS!
