Well guys & gals, as we have all heard Pontiac is in the toilet and will be flushed shortly. How hard will it be for me to get my hands on a G8 GXP in 2 years? Anyone know how many there will have been produced?

I would say there's less than a thousand of them that were made. They just started producing them recently and now they aren't making them any more.

They will be rare but I am sure you will be able to find a nice used one during that time.

+1 on going with a GT. All youre getting with a GXP is the name, the brakes, the extra .2 of displacement, and the cool interior. The extra .2 isnt worth it, and you can upgrade the brakes easily :)

I would go for the GXP. More horsepower and the best OEM wheels that you can get IMO.

For the extra money the HP gain really isn't worth it. And in my own personal opinion, them wheels are ugly as sin.

Word has it that SLP is still planning to make the G8 FireHawk, but it's starting at $51k. I'd say you should get your order placed!

I went down to Pontiac today to "order" one, and they were excited to see me. We haven't even gotten our first GXP up here yet, but I guess some place down in Denver has 17 of them or something from what I hear. So I'm just going to see where the next year goes and see how far down I can pay the GTO.

I plan on getting an GXP because I want the manual and the wheels. It's not about the brakes or the displacement. But I'm not selling for a car that I don't really love/want.

Don't forget the GXP also has a much better suspension, but that should bolt right on the GT. Those wheels ARE hot, when you see them in person they really look good.

I saw a couple of GXP's the last time I drove by my dealership. I'm sure they probably have another one inside. There's also another big Pontiac dealership down the road, They probably have some too. They had G8's before the other one did.

If I scrape up $1500 anytime soon.. that's not as bad as the rims I thought about buying..

Todd are you outta your mind, you're gonna run those beautiful wheels in the winter? Besides you'll spend about a grand for some 19" snow tires.
