Hi everyone, so I changed out the no radio controls steering wheel in my '08 GP for a leather wrapped radio control steering wheel and everything went well, except that I now have my airbag light that stays on. How or what can I do to get the light to turn off?

Remove the negative from the battery for 15mins or 1/2 hour so the code clears

I did that but still the lite stays light...is the only other way to reset it by using a Tech II scanner?

ok...so I removed the airbag again, seems that maybe I didn't press the AB plug in snug enough, but the light is now off...hurray...now, what adapter is best to connect to the aftermarket radio to get the steering wheel functional?...PAC SWI?? or any other adapter out there...

-- Sun Feb 07, 2010 8:53 pm --

Another thing...is there any other adapter needed since my 08 didn't have the steering wheel controls and now do...

I can't get the airbag for the LIFE of me!

I've tried two different types of items to get these things unlatched, no go... I am even questioning if I have them in the right location, because it feels mostly hollow when looking around for the groove to pull back. I can hear spring tension here and there, but nothing helps enough to release/wiggle the bag at all.

GM's step by step procedure is useless to me, since I do not have the tool which I can't find for sale in my area.

Appreciate the write up, but after an hour off/on fiddling around, I am throwing in the towel. LOL
