Haha that's actually me in the vid :P

It's a walk in the park. I've done it to three cars as of now inside and outside the engine bay

Sorry to threadjack, but what is ACTUALLY included in the HD Trans upgrade?? Ive seen some companies offer parts that others don't offer in an HD Upgrade "kit", just trying to get info straight.
1: The HD passenger side axle
2: HD "output shaft" for the driver's side axle
3: HD Cover (it's longer than a non-HD Diff cover because the HD Diff itself is longer)
4: HD Differential (duh!)
5: new Torrington bearing for differential (what the hell is a "Torrington bearing??lol")
6: Trans fluid

Am I missing anything?? I may be bothering you to death with PMs when I go after this project

Technically the "kit" is made up. All that the companies do is order HD parts or re-use parts off wrecked cars. All the items listed can be found for cheap. If anything, I can get the hard stuff for you haha

1: axle can be picked up locally at Autozone or wherever
2: the output shaft is the long shaft that connects the two axles together (the shaft you see the diff connected to in the vid)
3: if you have a local junkyard you can pick this up for CHEAP, either that or check with Dave at TEP
4: once again can be found for cheap at the yard in ANY L67/L32 powered vehicle
5: The torrington bearing is on the output shaft. In between the shaft and the DIff. If you grab it all as one pieve than you won't have to worry about picking one up
6: obviously opening up the trans is going to cause it to leak. Just pick up some more ATF fluid and a catcher

Nice vid. Ive done this several times as well. If anyone of you do it, make sure your diff cover sits flush before you bolt it down. I learned the hard way and i figured the space was because of the diff seal....wrong. One of the bearings(the one on the opposite side of the park gear) had falled out of its seat and when i bolted the diff cover back on, i broke an ear off the diff cover and craked the race on the bearing.

Would you guys say this is something that could be done in an afternoon in a driveway?(a level one, of course  ) I know nothing about transmissions or differentials for that matter, and I dont wanna screw anything up. I dont consider myself mechanically inclined, most of the time, but a transmission isn't something I wanna screw up on. Is it really as easy as you guys make it look/seem?

Great information. I always thought it would be more involved. Not much harder than swapping an axle. Does all of the same parts and steps work on the 04+ swap?

If you can change out an axle and have the correct tools than yes. Probably take a few hours for someone new to the game. I can get it done in about an hour or so including time to jack up the car and taking the tires & axles off (yeah, that's how simple it is). Best advice I can give when it comes time to remove the diff is TAKE YOUR TIME! Pulling it too fast will bring the sun gears along with it (the gears I point out in the vid that are normally on the output shaft)

Yeah, same process

Did I happen to mention Mike...u da shit! Thanks again man, I feel much less apprehensive about this project/upgrade now. Not trying to threadjack, but I don't suppose you know how the whole Diff squirter things works do ya? iirc, TEP or Intense or someone who does aftermarket performance transmissions for the W body community has a Diff squirter inside the trans somehow. Im just wondering if this "Diff squirter" is something that can be added when doing an HD upgrade, or where to even find a "diff squirter", or if it's something that can only be specially done by one of these companies and there's no way for someone to do it themselves, or if it's just overkill,...etc.?
