good write up, but I found that 3" is too restrictive for a GTP. I use 3.5" gives a noticeable difference over 3".

Very true with a supercharge setup 3.5 to 4 inch is ideal.

Are you talking about the pipe or filter?

friction. its just kinda forced against it by its tightness to the tube.

i just want to let people know that there are two different kinds of pvc thickness that i know of and that sch 40 and 80, 80 is the thinner one, make sure thats what your getting if not you can get the sch 40 just use the 3 1/2 inlet on the filter and get a 3 1/2 to 3 or heat the 3 to 3 in the microwave for 30 sec. then stretch it, its hard to find 80 in my town, and for the gen 3 engines go for 10" pipe

It would be a good idea to tighten the steel band to secure everything.
This thread has some pics of the mild ones like mine to the wild ones.

A PCM tray is NOT required for intake setups. I've heard of guys who do nothing but leave it sit there and nothing has happened to their setups. Would I do that, no. At the very least I would fasten it down with velcro or something similar (zip ties work great on some of the body holes if you get creative).

When doing a FWI you should remove that ugly bend @ the TB (the stock plastic piece). you can easily create something similar that takes air and gives it to the emissions or w/e that tube is. Then you can also have a pretty intake because in the end, if you are supercharged that's all it ends up being.

Just my .02. I've been through a lot of intakes but settled on a K&N because I got it for a deal from a member on here.

Well you see Zero, the dirt covering your motor has collected so much over time that it acts as a massive motor heat wrap. Free mod they won't tell you about.
