We've all seen Drunkies great work and awesome projectors, so I decided to modify the projectors on my girlfriends 97 for some pink demon eyes. Here's how I did it. Enjoy

Image
What you need:
-Projector headlights
-LEDs
-wire
-electrical tape or heat shrink if you’d like
-glue or epoxy
-toggle switch
-basic tools including wire splicers of course.

The DIY:
1. First, the black bracket for the headlights needs to be removed. It is held on by 4 screws and just comes right off. Now is a good time to do an anti-bounce fix if you haven’t do it already.
2. Removed the main reflector housing for the projectors. Again it’s only 4 screws and comes right off. Also removed the rubber gasket and cutoff plate.
Image
3. Then, I soldered 2 LEDs in series and covered all exposed metal so that they would not short out if they came in contact with something.
Image
4. To help against creating a hot spot on the projector I cut off the top of the LEDs and sanded the top with some 600 grit sand paper. You don’t have to do this, but when I was test fitting I was getting a really bad output with having the regular dome top LEDs.
Image
5. Finally the fun part. Place the LED’s in the bottom of the housing right in front of the projector and right behind where the cutoff plate will be. I used some clear glue to hold the LEDs in place after I had them aimed the way I wanted them. I had to play with the location a little to get the optimal and more uniform output.
Image
6. Run the wires down through the bottom of the headlight and out through where the halo wires come out. I wanted to modify the regular gasket, but I was getting antsy, so I just ran the wire around the gasket and hot glued it to hopefully prevent moisture. Almost a year later it’s still holding up just fine.
Image
7. Time to put the headlight back together. Put the cutoff plate, rubber gasket and reflector housing back onto the headlight and reattach the main bracket.
8. Then run the wiring to a switch however you prefer (remember having a different colored headlight is illegal so if you have a red/blue/green demon eye it should only be used at shows and not be wired to come on all the time even though the actual headlight bulb will overpower the output of the LED and you really won’t be able to see the demon eye when your low beams are on). I wired mine by tapping the ground from the main headlight harness, then running the positive wire through the firewall on the passenger side and hooking it up to a switch powered off the power outlet, so I could have the DEs on while at shows but now have the keys in the ignition. I then put the switch in the dash where the HUD controls would be if I had a GTP.
9. Finally, install the headlights, make sure everything works and enjoy having some cool looking projectors.

One more pic just for fun even though it makes things look more purple than pink

you can make the projectors look pink w/o the lights by spraying the cutoff w/e color you want and it'll reflect that color back

Thanks. If you do end up doing it and have any questions just let me know.

It's similar but not exactly the same. I haven't really looked closely are Morimoto projectors but I had a friend that did Demon Eye's in his Mini's and said that it's pretty much the same as this. Might have to play with the location a little to make sure that the entire projector is light up evenly though.
