for this DIY the engine must be cool, you'll need a 5/16" nut driver or socket (or even a flathead screwdriver) and a 10mm socket, ratchet and small extension, a few clean rags, 1 can of MAF sensor cleaner and 1 can of Throttle Body cleaner. Car is an 2004 GTP....
loosen the three clamps on the intake assembly (1 at TB, and 1 at each side of MAF) with a 5/16" nut driver
Image

unplug MAF by removing Grey locking tab, and depressing the small black tab, and pull.
Image

Image

remove vacuum hose from back of bellows
Image

and remove assembly from vehicle (the screen is the inlet side of the MAF sensor)

remove intake ducting from MAF (this is the outlet side of the MAF sensor)
Image
and spray throughly with MAF sensor cleaner,
Image
hot damn!!
Image

DO NOT TOUCH THE SMALL METAL WIRES INSIDE THE MAF WITH ANYTHING! just spray them with the cleaner.
set the MAF sensor aside to dry and move on to the TB

start by unplugging the TB by lifting the Grey tab up (on top of the connector)
Image
as your lifting the tab, you'll feel the connector pull from the TB. pull and remove.
Image
remove 2 10mm bolts on top and 2 10mm nuts on bottom of TB,you'll notice a small amount of coolant leak out during this step, mine only leaked maybe an ounce of coolant at best. It is imperative the engine is cool before attempting to remove the TB
Image

and remove

pretty grubby......
Image
start by spraying TB with TB cleaner
Image
some of the crap will be a bit stubborn, just take your time and be through
Image
you can hold the butterfly open with a finger or two to get the crap out of the inside, rags will come in handy for scrubbing out the stubborn stuff.Be careful not to damage the black rubber gasket.
Image
the inside of the intake was quite cruddy
Image
so I used a rag soaked with TB cleaner to clean in there also
Image
Image
I would not recommend spraying TB cleaner into the intake of the Supercharged engines as the chemicals could damage the rotors inside the Supercharger itself,

nice and clean
Image
now simply reverse the process by installing the TB, bellows, and MAF. The arrow on the MAF will point toward the engine, and all the ductwork has tabs and cutouts to correspond to each other.
Image
insert vacuum hose into bellows
Image
tighten clamps
Image
plug connectors back into TB and MAF,start car and check for leaks at bottom of TB,
your finished
Image

I could tell a noticeable difference in how the car runs now. any questions? PM me and I'll help you as best as I can....

i know i do!!! PBR is the BEST!!!! but i also enjoy miller high life on occasions. i won't buy it, but i will drink it. but its real slogan, says it on the bottle, you can see some of it in his pic that its the champagne of beers. which is all i was stating, just their slogan. haha

only thing bad about PBR is the next morning. you spend like a hour sittin on the sh**ter, if you drink more than like 8 of em, which isnt hard. haha

our TB (04+) has quite a bit of electronics on it (drive by wire) so its possible to substitute another cleaner but I wouldn't recommend it.

throttle body screens do one thing. they direct and control air flow. certain grand prixs have them certain ones dont. ive noticed its a hit or miss rather you have it or not.

i dont think you have anything to worry about not having it. its been 2 years since ive had mine in

MAF and TB cleaner are around 5 bucks a can so i don't know what could be substituted for much cheaper.AND if something doesn't work out right,a new MAF is $60 and a TB is $204 at Monster. So no,I wouldn't recommend it.
