I thought I'd bring this up seeing as a lot of us don't have a lot of time before the snow flies - if it hasn't started in your area already.
I usually put two coats on of Meguiars liquid Gold class.
I just bought a tin of the Gold Class paste wax when I was in Bowling Green a few weeks ago.
The cars [mine and Dad's] were just done before the trip with the liquid.
After trying out the paste, all can say is WOW!
The difference is amazing.
Everyone comments on how good they look.
Here's a pic of Dad's and mine:

The cars both look great! I've been using the liquid Gold Class and it's hard to remove if the temp isn't just right. I'll have to look for some in the paste wax.

I second the temperature sensitivity on Gold Class, however, it really knows how to make a dark colored car look incredibly deep.

No kidding.
Try the paste at 55 F.
The thing I was struck by was the paste makes the liquid look totally stupid.
The difference really is noticable.
I still hate the NZXT.
Too hazy...especially on a darker car.
Do them both side by side [both liquids],you'll see it.

I hear you.
When you make a living at it,you don't fool around.
I've seen your work and it's real nice.
That's what inspired me.
I'm curious what you think of the liquid vs. paste wax thing?
I found the finish just smoked the liquid on both cars.
The difference in color depth and luster was like night and day.
Even Mom commented and she never says any more than it looks nice.
This one impressed her.

Ever hear of AutoGlym products?
I use their vinyl and rubber dressing on the tires.
It's emulsified with water and not disolved with solvents.
Apparently that's better for tires [no solvents].
I was thinking about their paste wax.
It seems to get good reviews.

BTW:I'm from Canada,so maybe you haven't heard of AutoGlym.

it is more of a side job/ hobby for me since i have another full time job......as for the waxes ive used both from different companies...i used to use mequiars products like Nxt, gold class, etc....i have since moved on to Adam's products and use both of their waxes one being a paste and the other liquid but those 2 waxes are on different levels...the liquid is a sealant and the paste is a carnuba based wax.....i personally think the paste waxes i have used do leave a better looking finish when they are done but the main thing on what determines the shine and depth is going to be the condition of the paint...if it has swirls and micro scratches you wont get the depth you can from a car that is near perfect.....ive never heard of that line before so i couldnt say much about it...Adams tire dressing is also water based so its easy on tires....ive gone through a lot of different waxes until i came across Adams...their sealant last 5-6 months easy no matter how many washes and conditions you drive through

I haven't tried the Adams stuff.
As for removing imperfections,I agree whole heartedly.
I've read of Poor Boys,Zaino, etc. on the detailing forums.
They all seem to get good reviews.
Do you do the sealant first, then wax?
That seems to be the order,IIRC?

Those are some good brands as well. Yes you always put the sealant down first on bare paint so its a good idea to do a strip wash and clay prior.the lsp (last step product) would go over the sealant which is goin to add the wet look to the paint

Takes me at least 12 hours to do something right and that's not even accounting for repeats on correction and such...

I'd recommend Adam's and Wolfgang. Zaino, imo, is a waste of money. I bought the kit for $100 and the only thing I liked out of it was the Clay Bar. The rest of it I donated to raffle off at a car club I was a member of.

M105/205 is great for getting swirls/hazing out, but any bit of moisture in the M105 makes it a PITB to get off the paint. M205 is a good "in-between" corrections kind of detailing.

I also second Adam's VRT, that stuff is amazing.

M105/205?
You've got me on that one.
I'm curious:

How do you guys handle light scratches?

I usually just blend them by hand with Meguiar's Scratch X.
I don't try to totally remove them.

When I am working on a car for a customer it takes me between 7-8 hours to do everything from the inside to everything on the exterior (washing claying polishing etc.).

The m105 and m205 is mequiars professional line.it is pretty good as well.

For light scratches if it doesn't catch with your finger then I get out my flex 3401 polisher and start off with my least aggressive polish first. If that doesn't get it then I bump to the next aggressive polish and work my way back down again. Anything by hand isn't really goin to fix much

TBH,I find hand blending will hide quite a bit ....... as long as it's not too deep.
I don't like removing clear unless I have to.
I can usually blend light scratches in so you don't notice them without looking really close ..... at least the kind your finger *just barely* catches.

i used scratch x when i first started detailing and it does an alright job....i do a full detail on all my cars twice a year which includes a full polish with my flex and i know i wont come to close to going through the clear.....the amount that is removed is extremely minimal

When I put my winter coat of wax on my car, it took me about 8 hours. It took Matt all of 45 minutes to do his. My car looked worse after using the Collonite's 845 on top of my Zaino, but the protection is there so I won't complain.

I just bought a 9 ounce can of Collinite 915 for the spring.
The Meguiar's is still good though.
I'll let you know how the Meguiar's panned out in the spring.
