My GP has some really deep scratches on her, is there any product out there i can use to fix them with outside of touch-up pens and paint? I saw something from Simoniz a while ago called the Fix it pen is there any product like this that works?

I haven't heard of that Fix it pen, but I've seen great success in the touch-up pen kit they sell at Autozone. Someone on autopia did a phenomenal job fixing a pea sized hole in a black car that he was detailing with it. You'll have to wetsand no matter what you use to fix it, unless you just want to take a black marker :P (kidding of course), that being said... best to buy a junk piece of a car and practice wetsanding; do you have a buffer?

I don't have a Buffer ... I all my waxing and stuff by hand .... I need to compound the car as well .... have a lot of swirls from the previous owner. If i send it to get it professionally detailed will they do anything with the scratches do you think?

It depends, but I would HIGHLY recommend you do some background check on the "professional" detailer you look into. I paid someone $160 to hack my old GT, twice, only reason I got burned twice was because I thought I screwed up the paint, turns out the Mexicans (not being racial at all because that's who he hired) that he had working in the back had no idea how to use a rotary because they left holograms, buffer trails, etc. all over my old blue GT. Half the time a primate would be better off taking a rotary to your vehicle. Just be careful, a lot of folks claim their professional and will do massive damage to your vehicle. Black on GP's are finicky enough as it is, I should know  (and Dave of course). It'd be a good investment for you to buy a Portal Cable, if you have the time of course, because no one will treat your baby as good as you :)

But if you find a good detailer, odds are they will fix those scratches; for a price, but at least it leaves you free of doing it.

X2 invest in a porter cable and do it yourself... The price you'll end up paying a so call 'professional' you get a buffer and do it yourself and have he stuff available in case you have to do it in the future. Do your homework if you decide to have a pro do it.

Here, check this out. A good place to start: http://www.autopia.org/forum/content/13 ... epair.html. It's touch-up paint, but a great step-by-step process.

Oh and another thing is if you can catch your fingernail on the scratch generally your going to need to wetsand or repaint.

Have you tried any systems that clam to get rid of scratches on the fine ones? Then on the big ones use dr colorchip, done, and no big payment to a detailer.

It's hard for any of us to make a judgement on what you should do. I'm assuming deep scratches
mean pretty deep, but not down to metal. So if thats the case, a PC or something equivelant is needed here.
Pics would help as well in helping you.

Take a look at the makita rotary buffers along with the porter cable if you go this route.. they work great as well, been using one myself for a while.
