degreaser and a pressure washer. you can also steam clean them.

if ur talking about the black pad ive heard people say cleaning it takes to much effort and just to black spray paint it. i did that and it looks fine just take it out spray it with simple non gloss black spray paint and re attach, takes about 20 minutes.

in theory i think its suposed to quiet the engine and contribute to over heating lol. honestly u can take it off and run without it, it doesnt matter.
