As much as I'd love to present a full before and after for y'all... I'm unfortunately not equipped enough to do so. I'll have to invest in a D/A or Rotary because an Orange Pad with M105 just won't cut it, pun intended.

The car is very responsive, but this is some hard paint. Doesn't look to be single stage either.

Anyway, a few shots and the video below. Video speaks volumes - Gives a new meaning to two face almost.

Will update this as I work more, but I wouldn't anticipate anything significant soon. Just wanted to share ;)

Love it Kendra good job. I thought you had a porter cable d/a. Thinking of getting rid of mine and buying a flex to speed up the correction process.

Thanks, Matt! Good catch, I do. I need to, like you, to snag a flex for tasks such as this. Unfortunately the PC just isn't strong enough for this kind of correction. I'm sure if I did pass, after pass, after pass it'd clear up, but this was about 4 passes and what was left is still pretty severe. Much better than what it was, but still not enough to make me happy ;)

I'm guessing you used the Megs twins on this beauty.

for the paint work it could work, but i have some exteded family in eastern tenn, some in s.c. and soon to have an aunt in georga, so it would just make more sense to go on vacation, get the ride spiffed up, meet some cool members and enjoy the contry side.. no offence, but the wifes long lost aunt in tenn lives about 5 miles from the tail of the dragon.. so by default.... she wins..

She's already admitted that she'll be practically begging me to bring my Camaro when I get it painted. At least now I can start getting PTO time so I might be able to snag a long weekend towards the summer if I'm not deployed. Hmmm....birthday present for Kendra maybe? I bet I could swing that if I'm still here.

Looks like I WILL be updating this sooner than I thought. I just purchased a Flex buffer yesterday. I'm excited for its arrival :)

This was a single step alone, paint definitely wasn't ready for M205, but this is M105.

@Drew I don't know if I'd call it begging lol. I just was assuring you I could make the paint look dripping wet ;)

I'm definitely looking forward to using it. I got a pretty stellar deal on it too. Came out to be like $329 shipped + 6 pads.

Of course my Dad is pretty anxious for me to finish the Camaro :)

Now Gary wants me to come back up. I'm sure Mikey does too. Guess I'll have to plan on another trip at some point :)

Yeah I saw that, I'm sure he'd be entertained at your drunk singing ;)

On a serious note I bought the Flex XC 3401... I don't know if it's temperature or just rock hard clear, but while it's cleaning up oxidation it is hardly scraping the surface of the swirls. Frankly, it's starting to piss me off lol. I started out with M105 on a White Pad (starting as mild as possible) it took away some, but left less to be desired. So I upped it to my Orange Pad and it did better, but still wasn't cutting it. I don't know if perhaps it's just too cold or what.

Using Speed 2-3 on spreading and 5-6 on buffing.

I are annoyed lol. Guess I'll wait for a warmer day and try again. Was 59* out today.

This would be why... Detailers, may make you cringe.

That would explain why I can't get the swirls out.

That looks down right nasty...the temps you were working in are fine so that wouldn't have been the issue....those look pretty deep

Yeah, nasty IS the word for those. It's downright disgusting actually.

I snagged the materials I need to do some test spots for wet-sanding and see if it'd be worth investing the time/energy/money into... Or just keep them filled with products.

as long as there is enough paint there to not sand through it it should work great. but it may get kinda thin.. good luck.. what ever you do i am sure it will look as good as it can.

It's alright as long as I don't take it down to the primer or metal, it's a temporary fix to save my Dad some cash. Of course as long as a 3 x 1 spot is taking me I might charge him o_O

Here's the best Before & After's I have with just M105 and wet-sanding. The car is a mess. 2000 grit is the only thing that will remotely cut into it. Funny because I felt like I wasn't making ANY progress, but now seeing the before and after... Erm, yeah.
