2005 GTP Comp G. Looking at add a little bump in the trunk. I am trying to route a 4 gauge power wire. Where should I come through the firewall? I was looking by the fan on the passenger side but am afraid of hitting something =\ Any advice/pictures would be greatly appreciated.

See firewall- you'll notice a red wire.

Then just simply pull it from inside the car. The hole is easier to get to via passenger side just under the HU area.

ok, found it. Did you cut the boot and feed it from the engine bay then?

I think theres actually a better one a bit lower down. You can get to it from the inside if you pull up your carpet a bit near the center console. Its a bit bigger, allowed me to fit three runs of 4 gauge and one run of 8.

I don't know HOW many times I've had to post this picture.. but here it goes again.. :)

This boot is under your passenger side carpet, almost at the very end of it (Bottom side of dash)

I found it hard to pull it threw. The one I got didn't require much effort at all. I just stretched the boot a little to feed the line in and pull it threw the other side.

Your going to see both once you pull the carbeting. Just choose the one u think is the best.

Hard to pull through? You sally. :) Take out the large rubber plug that is in the grommet area, and cut a hole in the boot that the plug sits in. Then take the large plug and drill a hole the size of your wire and shove the wire through it. Don't be afraid of a little silicone either. In my picture, you can't see the large plug that you have to pull out because I completely removed it, ran the 4 runs of 1/0, and then filled it all back in with silicone.

So I hooked up my amp over the holiday weekend. Ran the power to the battery with an inline fuse, ground under the backseat, and acc wire to the acc wire in the harness for the factory amp. Made sure all of my connections were good. Turned the key to the on position and verified the amp powered on. Disassembled the dash and pulled the radio, finding no RCA outs, went to start the car for a trip to my local Cartunes store. Car would not start, car actually went insane with relays clicking and the radio making some crazy noises. Tried to jump the car, and charged the battery overnight, still nothing. Pulled the battery from my Mustang, and it fired right up. Do you think the amp could be bad or a faulty connection or simply an already dying battery? Currently I have the power disconnected at the fuse, do you think I should try hooking the amp back up with the replacement battery inplace? Any suggestions/similar experiences?

Have the battery tested at advanced auto parts or autozone etc- they will be able to tell you if it's bad or good. If it's bad, get a nice red top battery :)

^ Or a nice Kinetik battery :) I would try hooking the power wire back up with the 2nd battery in it.. if it works, the 1st battery was probably junk. The fools at Advance don't know how to test a battery properly... They've told me TWICE now that one of my batteries is OK, when I know it has a dead cell..

Also your link with the youtube vids......damn!!!!! did not know the car could bump that hard and not rattle to pieces! Used to have some bumps, nothing like you, in my Mustang and broke the spoiler right off the damn thing. Keep up the great work.

Thanks. Sadly, I do not own a Grand Prix anymore.. and with the illness of my dog in the past, I actually sold my system off to pay for the dogs surgeries. I'm rockin an F150 now, and I did have plans to add some beats to it, but now the wife and I are expecting our first child, so once again my plans get set to the side. :/ But I still remember a lot of what I had to do to the Grand Prix to get it at "loud" as I did.. so if you have questions, fire away. And yeah, these cars were built like tanks. Nothing ever broke from vibrations :)

Sorry to hear about the dog, have had similar problems in the recent past. Unfortunately we lost her.

Congrats on the baby! They are a lot of work/fun. Mine just started 2nd grade yesterday. This is my second GP. The first met a tragic-end after giving me 6 years of great service. This weekend I plan on getting back out to work on the amp wire project, so more questions may be coming. Thanks for all the help.

No problem. I've never dealt with a factory head unit while adding an amp, but the link that you gave to the Amazon site looks like that should be your ticket to adding an amp. If anyone thinks otherly of knows that I'm wrong or if it's the wrong harness, please chime in...

from what i can see in that picture it looks like just the internal speaker outputs? fronts left and right, rears left and right? so i wonder if it just takes the output from the speaker wires and sends it to the rca's? not sure if this would work for adding subs?
