I just plasti'd my rims for winter and sprayed my calipers while I had my wheels off.
She's a little dirty in the picture.

Image

Update: I balanced my wheels today. Got rid of most of the vibrations but thats beside the point. The old wheel weights came off and new ones went on the inside. On the way home some water from the rain got onto the wheels and up in behind the plastidip causing it to bubble. I tried to fix it but it looked worse the more i tried. :( back to the way she was until i get some extra money for some cans of plastidip $20 bucks a can here....maybe ill have to do some black friday shoppin and stock up on some

Care to explain any difficulties you had plasti'd-ing?
I want to do this asap to my stock (soon to become permanent winter) wheels

It was pretty easy actually. Completely happy with the results.
Wheels have to be totally clean and free of dirt and brake dust.
Only difficult part was getting into the holes and edges. Just take your time and have multiple coats to ensure it's strength against rocks, debris, and washing.
Instead of taping around outside of the rim I used cue cards in between the rim and tire.

Thanks for the tip. I just finished the final coat on my wheels. I didn't even mask them off, because the excess over spray onto the tires just peels off, and even if it didn't these tires are getting replaced soon as snow falls regardless.

if your getting new tires on you might have to touch up the plasti-dip. I messed up the pd on one rim i did when i just started working at a mechanic shop.

You shouldnt have to if they put the wheel weights on the inside.

^ He's just saying that Summit Racing should ship to Canada, or at least I think that's his intention..
