Before the new law I was forced to take off the front tint.
Now it's time to get it on again..But cops are checking them any chance they get.

I'm glad in my home town cops don't really care about tint (or other cities I've been to). It seems to only be state troopers that try to get me for it.

I think it depends on if they have the testers or not. as far as if it is not supposed to be tinted at all, it depends on the cop, so just hit dunkin donuts everyday, lol.

What's this about IL's laws changing? I drive in Illinois almost weekly so if I could actually put front tint on my car that would be killer. Anyone know anything about this?

1st of all, Illinois can't ticket you for their tint laws if you aren't registered in the state...
2nd...
Yes, they changed the law. IIRC it's 35% all around
If darker in rear needs to be lighter in front.
Don't quote me though...
Call this guy:
Allstar Window Tint: 815.654.6247 - Joe

Hm, weird, cuz Winthrop Harbor cops gave my brother a ticket for tint on the front windows a couple years ago, but he's registered in WI as well.

I'll have to look into this.

He should have reminded the cop what state his plate was registered to...
They going to give you a ticket for towing a trailer with your truck, without plates on it?
Laws vary state to state. Some you have to know of...
(Helmet, reg in glove-box, insurance) Tint laws are not one of them.
You can't be expected to remove a legal tint for your car because you are driving in an other state
