Hi all, this is my first post and hope somebody can help me. I've tried doing the search feature but for some reason it keeps coming back with message saying can't find results. I just purchased a 2004 grand prix and wanted to replace my exhaust tips. I'm not sure how to describe it but it's the dual black ones, think it's like made of rubber or something. I was trying to replace it with some chrome dual tips but don't know how it works. I wanted something that I can just replace without having to weld or anything. Seen a couple on ebay but don't know if it would work. Any kind of help would be much appreciated, thanks.

The seconds ones should fit. Im not sure what your talking about thats rubber... The only rubber on any exhaust system will be hangars...

Doing it your self would mean getting out a grinder or a hack saw, but any reputable exhaust shop like midas will charge you about an hour to cut off your old ones and spot weld your new ones... I had mine done in the spring and it cost me 50 bucks.

You would need something with a 2.5 inch inlet diameter for stock mufflers...

Thanks for the replies all, I'm posting a picture I found on google to show what I was talking about. The tips on my car are the black ones in the pic, not sure if it was rubber like I described but looked like it when I checked it out. Just trying to replace those with chrome ones. Is there another place where I can find some good ones for a good price? From what I'm seeing I guess no matter what I'm going to need it welded on? I thought I could just slide the old ones off and slide new ones in or something.

The picture you posted up are factory tips. They are probally black from soot/carbon build up and could be wire brushed to bring them back to the aluminum color, or someone painted them black with some high temp engine or header paint

I'd recommend some SPO exhaust tips, they are the option gm exhaust tips for the grand prix's. You can usually find them in the for sale section or on ebay for a decent price. I bought my spo tips on ebay for 65 dollars shipped. You wont be disappointed with SPO tips, they look great.

those are pig nose tips

get any tips you please but for the love of jebus and kirby (>'.')> have your local exhaust shop put them on, 20 - 30 bucks sounds like alot for nothing, but it will be quick and painless for you, i needed a sawsall to get my stock exhaust apart. but make sure they line the tips up really good

Thanks, I've seen quite a few post about the SPO tips, I just tried looking for them on ebay but came up with no results. Is there a place besides the dealership where I can get them for a good price? Thanks again.

That does sound like alot of work, I will definitely get a shop to do it for me instead of trying this myself, thanks. Now just need to find some tips.

Scroll down to the classifieds on gpona I think there are a couple of guys selling them right now.

If you can't find them on eBay do a search for magnaflow exhaust tip and look through the results that come up. Magnaflow makes an Spo style tip, thats what I have.
