Has anyone done or ever thought of having a steel or fiberglass cowl grafted to a GP hood for that true cowl induction look AlA this?

Doesn't look that great. On the 97-03 it looked great but th e 04-08's etc have a body line that doesn't match that. Def is one of a kind though, if anyone is in the mood to buy an 08 red GXP i'd get that one at least...

I've thought about it, but I would of made the cowl wider

If it was to be done properly and look good first of all the cowl would need to wider...not much just a little bit more and the cowl needs to go all the way to the back of the hood not 6 inches from the back and it shouldnt just end right there and you notice where the cowl ends it should appear as if its functional at least give it an edge much like the back off the hood but end the cowl a little farther in so it appear to be functional but it isnt now that would look right and appear right as well. The cowl stopping 3/4 way up makes it look retarded.

i agree it would look a hell of alot better wider and in my opinon just a hair taller...ive always liked the look of a cowl hood no matter what its on, i have a 4in cowl on my 92 rs maro and it flows great with the ground effects package...not so much on the gxp though.

x2 ... it needs to go back closer to the windshield.... and maybe
do a throwback to the 60's an mount a gauge pod in there. LOL

I don't think it needs to be wider.... and I do like the way it follows the
existing line of the hood.

I like the way it looks, I second that it needs to be closer to the windshield and not leave such a ridiculous gap. I like it though.

I agree with the windshield gap too but aside from that I like it. Oh I like the idea of a gauge tucked in there too.....Hmmmmmm.

^^^ "But I like it"

That quote is all that matters... I kinda wanna see how this looks when you're done. I think it would look pretty cool if done right.

I agree. It needs to come further back, for sure, and be an inch taller.

I'd like it more if it flowed with the stock hood lines, but its not horrible.

Decided to just go with the stocker for now. I had in inferno then sold it but now wish I'd kept it. Oh well you live and you learn.

X2

Its very well done.

That's how the true F1 hoods are made (and I am sure some others). Its a fiberglass shell bonded to a steel OEM frame structure underneath. Thats why it fits like a stock hood, and hooks up like a stock hood. You start running into problems with a fiberglass bottom bonded to the top with how it fits, and matches up to the body lines. Regardless how nice, or expensive your molds are, your going to have fitment issues.

Looks real good, I miss my 87 T-Bird

But that hood is just right, I love it, would love to see it on a grand prix.

Would be better if a bit wider and a bit further back near the windshield...

An inferno hood would be better. ;)
