I just got done looking at that thread. I do not have a Home Depot around here so I was hoping to get a closer look at the material itself so i know what to look for at a different store like Lowes or similar. Thank you for that though never the less.

Maybe we can get someone to chime in with what we need cause I really like the way it looks. I can not afford an SE lip right now and this would curb my appetite for one lol

Ok guys check this out. I googled this topic and found that many people are doing this to different types of cars. Go figure right? Anyway, check this out. ]

Here is a link to it on the Aveo forums.

http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f94/home ... -lip-8885/

And I searched the part number and came up with this...

http://www.homedepot.com/buy/tools-hard ... 52739.html

Apparently there is a foam and rubber version.. Hmm. I wonder which one I shall look for. What do you guys think?

I got the sku from a guy who did it on an srt-4 but it looks nothing like his pics. I just googled home depot lip and found his how to. Looks nothing like his pics.

in the first pic the south piece is where you put the double side... so when its on the car the lil edge will be on the bottom

Good day!

Perhaps one of you fine GP owners could post a pic showing the orientation of the "seal" on the lower facia? That would be helpful :)

Thanks!

Well, I must not have gotten the wrong tape. It would not bond too the seal itself. It was 3m molding tape from advance auto. I do not have the funds to go buy more right now cause I'm on workers comp for my wrist and money is tight. I will be taking my seal back to lowes tomorrow. Can't say I didnt try though lol.. Maybe another day when i get the chance I will do it.

Geez Im gone from the forum for a couple days and all this chatter goes on without me...LOL

For the newer folks, I posted an appearance thread on this about 2 or 3 months ago...

The stuff pictured above is indeed it. I got the 8 ft length for 15 and change at Home depot.

Install:

This applies to those with the SE Front Valance...

Best done with the front lip off the car but, if not...start at one wheel well, get the rubber stuff to line up with the edge of the lip, and drive a self tapper in. Then keeping the rubber flush drive in small self tappers every 6-8 inches working your way arround the car.

Once installed, cut the ends even with your wheel wells.

For my 2nd install, I did it on the car by jacking it up so I could get my cordless driver under the lip.

Now for in between the screws (hint use washers with the screws), you can a) use double sided tape or b) use GE clear silicone...

Thats what I did anyways.

My first HD lip only fell victim after 3 months of going up and gown the highway bc I went up a really steep drive and that was that...

I will dig up the old thread if I can find it.

This picture was taken yesterday...

Image

Here is my old thread...

Hey Gary, did you do anything to get the 3m to get it to stick better to the seal?
