i helped a guy from work put in some hids (chrysler 300) but hes says every now an then when he turns on his lights only one will come on but if shuts them of then turns them back on right away they both work same with his fog lights would a relay harness help this..i made sure that all the connecters were tight before we put it all back togather and every thing worked, last his ballest seem to realy hum..thanks

I recommend you have him get a harness. Sounds like the HIDs are not getting enough power to them through the factory wiring. The humming of the ballasts is normal. That means they are working.

i have a mopar and mine does the same on the fogs
but it only does it when i have the jumper for the fogs to stay on w/ the high beams

since the power isnt the same the light doesnt get enough juice to turn them on
so that car isnt giving enough power to the fogs, so build a harness for it

also most ballast will hum like a mofo
how loud they are depends on if the sound is being blocked or not

build a relay harness, he was just going to order one, and the special wiring thing they sent with neither one worked and they say that they need it would that be part of the problem...thanks

well i say build one since the harness they sent to me the wires were far too short to be usable

mine does that in the summer sometimes only when the harness gets REALLY hot

Yes, you need a harness. Had a custom auto shop make one for my mom's 300 with a 60 amp relay.

this happens because the computer is expecting a return feed of 13.5 or higher volts from halogen bulbs and is getting about 9-10volts from the HID ballast
