Hey all! I just put some 55W 6000K HIDs in my low beams, I think they look great but now my highs and fogs are looking really out of place! Is it worth it to put in HID highs? How about the fogs, Im thinking def. get some for the fogs. Any advice would be nice!

How often do you use your high beams? And personally, I would pass on the HID fogs unless you retro projectors in there. Our fog lights are terrible with HIDs in them because they throw light even above your low beam "cutoff". Which blinds oncoming drivers.

High beam HIDs are not important, the lows should be plenty bright enough. I also would not get HIDs in the fogs, I would get a lookalike bulb thats just the same blueish white for the fogs but not HID, yellow looks good too but I dont know if thats your style

Same is true with the conventional headlights as well. To the OP, you are better off to do a retro fit and get the morimoto minis and they have a high beam function (you have to splice it in to your high beam wires but they are great) that will work better than going through the trouble of putting HID's on your high beams that you use very little anyway.

I found these high beam bulbs on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... K:MEWNX:IT
8 bucks worth a shot right?

Another question, does the 894 bulb fit in our fogs?

in the stock housings of our cars hid highs area not that great, not to mention the warm up delay when switching from highs and lows

but that is not to say that it is pointless at all, i for one live in the country and go to and from work in the dark alot, and use my high's quite often, i put hid's in both the low and high of my bike and it is one of the single best things i have done to it.( but having factory projectors makes a big difference too. i just allowed what was there to work as designed just better output.)

i am planning on morimotos for my gp mostly for the high/low affect and good hid output from them. again i drive in the dark alot so i will probly end up doing something good and bright with my fogs too. ( i dont think i can find daylighters that small tho)

I run 3000k halogens from eBay in my highs. I also run HID fogs but those are retrofitted with mildly tweaked ES projectors.

Can anybody answer if those 894 bulbs fit in the fogs?
i was looking for just a halogen or xenon bulb for them,
ebay has a thousand 894's but not many 898's

Any 89x will fit. If you're running 55w highs you're already giving oncoming traffic a headache...so why not run fogs. IMO the crisp light adds to the appearance. I've got 35w 6k's in my fogs and LOVE em... yeah they don't make too much of a difference as far as light but they look great.

And highs depend on where you're driving. Out here in dear country they come in handy, yeah they take a min to warm up but when you're driving for 20+ min without seeing another driver....I could really care less having to let them warm up. Especially if it helps spot deer/cops.

Yeah, cause who gives a shit if you blind oncoming drivers and very possibly cause an accident as long as you're looking cool while doing it right?

Since when does a 35w set of fogs blind someone? And i've yet to hear of an accident caused by a set of HIDs. Yes 55w kits in headlights can be a bit much and cause a problem for oncoming traffic, but my fogs arent over the top at all. Although i do have the top half of the split layer tinted...which could help with the "throwing of light" you speak of.

If someones going to run HIDs in their lows, i really don't see the difference with running fogs also. Either way they're both more distracting than normal bulbs.

I will never understand why people can't just turn on their stock high beams for more light instead of getting HID that are just as bright as stock high beam and distract oncoming drivers

HID's give the car a cleaner look than the ugly color of stock lights, its also illegal to run with your high beams on if there is oncoming traffic, not illegal with HID's. I understand the want to get HID's in the fogs also because you dont want to see the awkward change between your headlights and fogs, but you do have to think that the fog HID's may cause an issue with traffic. But I have never heard of an accident being caused by HID fogs. There are also ways to go around that, the fogs dont have to as bright for them to look good, after you get the HID's in the headlights, the fogs are just for looks, you wont notice the light they give off

Oncoming traffic shouldnt see your brights... So why does it matter if theyre HIDs or not. And HIDs are MUCH brighter than stock halogen. Sorry but if i can spot deer quicker ill use HID brights... Its much different out here in BFE.

the problem is when HID lows are as bright as stock high beams you can't switch them to low because thats what they are at already, stock high beams are plenty bright enough to spot deer at a distance then switch to low for oncoming traffic then back to high

Again, they dont look as clean and they are not quite as bright as having high beams on, if youre saying they are then you must have an issue everytime a new Cadillac/Acura/Mitsubishi etc passes you, they all come with factory HID's

And the new caddy's, beemers, etc and have crazy annoying cutoffs that bounce anytime they hit a bump which is way more distracting.

Come live in deer country and see if you dont change youre mind about halogen high beams. I will say tho, the '04+ have the best highbeam housings that ive driven so far. but nonetheless HIDs will always be better.
