That's a pretty good job. Your first time? If the light output is good i'd like it. Hopefully they last for ya.

Yep, first time! I have to get a picture with the light output. It's really not that dark at all and I still need to polish them! Any idea on how long I should wait to polish?

I'm going to grab an SD card and card reader tomorrow since I lost my other set. I'll get a lot better pics tomorrow!

My HID's are coming in Monday as well.

I think I might but I really need to make sure I don't go too dark as the light won't shine through as much!

Good job, it looks good! I am guessing that they are also cleared as well?

X2 on tinting the reverse bar and de-badging the car!

The guy who tinted my lights did i think 2 coats over the revers light, It was enough to black the whole light and when u shift into reverse the stock light output just blasts through i dont think u have to tint around the lights. but personal preference i guess

Thanks for all of the comments guys! Crap, I'm sorry Tod1d I'll go do that right now since I'm about to head out.

I am going to take off the dealer sticker today actually. It's been raining every single day here this weekend. I tinted the tails on Friday and that night it rained pretty bad. The rain hasn't really let up since then.

Yes I did 3 coats of clear coat. Still a little bit of orange peel but I'm going to sand them down a bit next weekend and polish them up to a good shine.

I'll have to do the reverse light, possibly next weekend!

Thanks for all of the advice guys!

-Garrett

How about doing 1, maybe 2 coats..then mask off tha part tha light shines thru...then coat tha rest to match you tails.

Sounds like a good idea Dave, I think I'll photoshop it a bit before I actually go ahead with it though!

Tod1d - October 2006 is the M/F Date.

Here are some more pictures with my camera and remember this is in BRIGHT DAYLIGHT (btw I peeled off the dealer sticker, it just started to rain again as I was finishing it up.)

Lights off

Regular lights

The brake lights are obviously going to be brighter! I just don't like the whole "completely black" look. I like to have a tiny bit of red still noticeable when close. They do look completely black from a distance when the lights are off.

Tomorrow = HIDs and possibly debadging ;)

PS Is there any way I could make this into a journal type thing? I plan to do quite a bit to my car.

Thanks
-Garrett

That's a very nice tint level. Dark enough to look badass, light enough to hopefully keep the police off your ass. :D

I figured I was being lazy so I went out and snapped a couple pics of the back w/o the stealership sticker. (It was getting dark already)

Sorry the ISO on the camera really dusted up the pictures. It's pretty dark out so I thought I would give it my best!

Yeah I was pretty excited when I drove it for the first time. It only had 34000km on it when we bought it in April (I believe). Now it has 39000km. We are from the same area, so it would be expected that they be somewhat similar!

HIDs are hopefully inside of the mail today! :D

Chas,

I think if I wanted to get black rims I would just buy some new ones! I don't really like the look too much of the current rims and if I was to get black ones I would get 19s! Powder coating is really good though, maybe if I didn't have winter tires on my car for half of the year :P.

- On a good note, HIDs are out for delivery to my house!
