went ahead today and got the exhaust tips fixed....for those of you who saw my initial post you saw they were all kinds of jacked up...on backwards and crooked....well got that taken care of...also painted the grills black to break up the front a little bit...5 coats of fusion and i think they turned out pretty good....next on the list is black inlays for the front, rear, and arrowhead....enjoy

Looking good. Tips are a million percent better. Grilles look great in black too... I havent decided the ultimate fate of mine (being silver also), Im waiting until I have my next big visual mod completed to decide their fate... ;)

Wow you just painted a $185 set of SPO grilles silver.
Besides the paint will chip off and the silver will stand out like a beacon.

Silver SPO grilles:

I bought black SE grilles that have the same honeycomb design as the SPO's for $90:
http://paceperformance.com/search.html? ... &go=Search

They also come in 3 other colors.

17802198 - SE Grille Inserts Gray
17802200 - SE Grille Inserts White
17802201 - SE Grille Inserts Red

You're right Gary they used to be less than $100 on Ebay but they are getting rare. I found one set of SPO's for $165 shipped and a set of black ones for $65 shipped.

I agree, the grilles look better in black on your car. You can try some plasti-dip, that shouldn't chip as easy as paint since it's flexible.

yeah i was thinking about going that route as well....maybe once they need redone i will do that and see how it looks....plasti-dip is more of a matte finish right?

I never saw it in person but it does look to have a matte finish in the pics I've seen.

I always thought that black grilles looked kinda tacky.. but I suppose it's the new cool! I'll need to replace them though. The driver's side nostril is loose at the bottom if you look in my Facebook photo album in the Picture Showroom section.

i will def. be going the plasti-dip route when spring time comes around....1 week in and i have about 4 chips in them already....ill just use a little bit of touch up paint to get me by...strip them down completely and redo them in plasti-dip and maybe clear them as well

Plasti dip is matte in color and they just came out w/ a plasti dip clearcoat that you can spray on top of it and it'll make it glossy.
