Yup, they stopped producing those probably close to 3 years ago IIRC

Here is another solution, I have all of these just hanging in my room for someday...
cluster overlay;
http://www.speedhut.com/product_detail- ... ER-155.htm

Stick on kit;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Carbon-F ... ccessories

Autometer carbon fiber series gauges;
http://www.pfyc.com/pc/GN2102/GPGAU/Aut ... auges.html

Contact Gr8RacingFool on here and he might have a carbon fiber shift boot still laying around.

The process is commonly known as water transfer printing; here are a few places that can customize your dash, if you're interested:

http://www.hydrodip.com/

http://www.tgwaterprinting.com/index.html

http://www.dmbsupply.com/

If you decide to do it, turnaround time can be 2-3 weeks or more, so you may want to grab an extra dash off Ebay for cheap, and send it out... ;-) Hope that helps!

Also called hydro graphic.

Another source:
http://hydroimaging.com/_wsn/page2.html

They are correct, PFYC.com had "The ultimate dash" that was dipped fake carbon fiber. Though it looked real...it also came with a really high price for what it was.

For me...I'm doing my dash, and various other interior parts in REAL carbon fiber.
Something I always wanted to do. I already got my steering wheel and PS shift knob done, time to blend in everything else. The rest of my parts should be done in a few months. Pictures when they arrive will be posted for sure.

Example of an entire dash he has done for another customer:
Image
I'm not taking it THAT far to do the entire dash...just the trim pieces.

I was going to try the aluminum stick on kit but was not really sure how it would look. Will wait for Moydynasty3 to post pics.

I have the carbon fiber stick on dash kits. I dont remember where I bought mine from, but mine is similar to www.exoticwooddash.com stuff, I think mine just came with more pieces.

Real carbon fiber...sticks on toy our dash, so its like an over lay. Looks cool if you custom paint your dash, then put it on. Makes it really POP at-cha.

GR8racingfool - where are you getting your pieces done at? Or are you doing them yourself?

I did not know PFYC quit selling them. It was not 3 years ago, cuz I bought my dash and console from them last year..........but come to think of it, they did not ask for a core, so must have been the end of their run on them. Man they were pricey. but they look awesome. There is a few shops on the net that will do your pieces for you if you send them off to them. Just do a search. I am talking with them paint and clear coat.........not stickers.

Did you replocate the DIC, or just eliminate it? I like your cf style shift boot as well.

Good friend of mine out of state is hooking me up with my dash parts. I am doing a few small things here for my car myself as a way to learn and teach myself how to do it. I am even doing something BIG for my house right now, Want to see a teaser picture?

Image

Its coming out VERY bad ass, I'll show more when its finished in a different thread. Its a first and one of its kind to my knowledge, but I am sure somebody will tell me different at some point down the road. :roll:

and while everything is set up doing this project, I am doing a few small car parts as well at the same time.

For right now, I completely eliminated it. Its a stupid little gimmick for our cars I never did find very useful. Only thing good it was for I ever saw, was for letting you know you have a low tire, but even then, I keep a close eye on my air pressure. I had thought about reinstalling it, where my ash try USED to be, if you notice, thats been completely removed as well, but doubtful i will ever reinstall it unless I am really board and have nothing else to do with my free time.

Thanks for the complements on the carbon fiber shift boot. I love mine, and never heard a bad thing about them from anyone else who ever bought one. I have just a few left I never told any body about, or really posted about if your interested in one for yourself.

~F~.

Farns, I hate your car because your car has cost me over $500 in underwear.

Wow, dude...thats a lot of underwear huh? LOL

Thanks I guess.

Making my dash resemble the prototype Petty Grand Prix...but bigger and better if at all possible.

Been working on this idea ever since I got my car back in 2001, its finally coming to a closure and getting my car exactly how I want it, or have always wanted it.

Here are some pictures of my current door panels so you can see my stick on carbon fiber parts on the handle trim, and lock and window bezel.

Ans yes... :roll: I even carbon fibered the door panel so it ties in with my carbon fiber shift boot.
