Finally got some new headlights and I'm looking for something a little brighter than what is in the headlights right now. What are some good replacement bulbs? I'm not looking for HIDs, just some brighter replacements. Right now there are just basic Sylvania bulbs in there, they are probably old too.

Also these are the ebay clear headlights and I've already put washers on the mounting bolts to angle the beams up. The low beams are about perfect and are maxed out but the highs are still pointed at the ground. Is there any other way to get the highs up without putting another washer in?

Type in "Euro Design 9006" in eBay, those are the bulbs I got in now. Scott (scrawnyguy) says they look like HID's because they're so bright and haven't burnt out yet (4 months).

Look in to the osram night breaker. I have seen a guy on club gp with them and they looked good. I have also seen a guy with a set of PIAA's that looked great.

Anyone know of good ones that I can buy at a parts store so I could pick them up tomorrow?

Look for some GE nighthawks. They are available at walmart. FYI any bulb with a blue coating will have less light output then a clear lens.

Is it Euro Dezigns? Cause Euro Design isn't bringing up any bulbs. :???:

I've had some regular Sylvania Silverstar 9004 in my old beater car for well over two years now, never had an issue and no burnt bulbs (knock on wood) and they made somewhat of an improvement over the regular Sylvania bulbs (my headlight housings are not perfectly clear, they have the old hash bumps on the inside, its a 1992).

In my GP, I installed Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's 9005/9006, I noticed a big improvement over stock light bulbs. I also installed some Sylvania Silverstar 893 in my foglights (don't think they make those ones in the Ultra series). The Ultra's have a very faint hint of blue in them when compared to my foglight bulbs (non Ultra's) but Ultra's are supposed to be brighter and last longer from what everyone is saying. Overall im satisfied for now with the light output and the look, I got the bulbs on special about two months ago for 40$CDN each set of two bulbs (9005/9006) and 25$CDN for each 893 bulb at CanadianTire. If you search ebay you may get better deals.

I have also recommended them to friends and family, everyone who installs them loves them and so far I have yet to see anyone close to me get a burnt bulb within the first two years of ownership. Alot of people complain about Silvestar's beeing overpriced because they supposedly burn out quickly, either those people touched the bulbs with greasy/dirty fingers (and insist they didn't) or with dirt on housing that they may not have noticed when inserting the bulbs in the housing hole or maybe some bad bulbs (bad handling at the parts store or worse, a careless ebay seller?!?)

Anyhow that's my experience with Silverstars, I plan to go with some HID's later on but as for now while im still under warranty i'll stick with some OE fit replacements.

^^^I got a 2000 which uses one bulb for the highs/lows. I guess that I'm stuck with the 9007's.

You could go to pep boys and pick up some silverstar ultras. I got them for christmas last year and ran them til about May, then I put my HID kit in. Light output was good, no real complaints.

As for the euro designz lights on ebay...I bought their fog lights to run with my silverstars and one blew out in about 5 months time... They are $10 light bulbs. They looked nice, but not the best of the best...Although they did last longer than the zzp xenon ($12) head lights that I bought. One of them lasted a month and the other lasted about 3 months.

And before you say anything, yes I know how to replace a bulb. You get what you pay for...

Sylvania Ultra's are direct OE replacement, plug and play, nothing to modify.

I had the Osram Nightbreakers in my projectors. They're a great bulb, but I don't think they're available in 9007.

For 9007, I'd recommend the Philips Xtreme Power +80%. I'm very satisfied with the VisionPlus +50% (brighter than Silverstar Ultra's, though not quite as white), and the Xtremes are both brighter and whiter still.

you do realize hids cost just as much ($45) as these other "high output" halogen bulbs? not tryign to be mean, just checking. a lot of people dont want hids because they think theyre still expensive, which isnt true.
